Overview:

The Principal Product Manager, AI plays an expanded strategic and executional role within the AI Product organization, responsible for owning more complex AI-enabled products or multiple product lines within Retro Claims Accuracy (RCA). This role helps build industry-leading AI technologies that enable lines of business with cutting edge, impactful solutions, and helps accelerate the adoption of AI, including advanced ML and Generative AI techniques, at scale. The Principal Product Manager, AI leads product development, strategy, and performance while driving stronger alignment across business, technology, and customer stakeholders, and guides product ideation, execution, and validation, balancing customer needs with business objectives and measurable impact. They must lead cross-functional collaboration, influence key decisions without direct authority, and drive consensus across leadership groups to bring AI products to market and manage their lifecycle effectively. Strong leadership, communication, analytical skills, and strategic thinking are essential for success in this role, along with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguity, maintain a high level of technical proficiency in AI, and mentor product managers on AI product practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive product strategy and execution, developing and delivering on the roadmap for more complex or multi-product AI initiatives, including our AI platform and solutions.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify AI opportunities and create business cases for new investments, including competitive analysis, program goals, business requirements, and risk considerations.
  • Translate stakeholder and customer requirements into clear technical documentation with stronger ownership of refinement and prioritization.
  • Coordinate and partner closely with Data Science, Engineering, R&D, Enterprise Product, finance, legal, and other stakeholders with a sense of urgency in a data driven manner. Develop and drive end to end program management to define, prioritize, and implement AI features, infrastructure, processes, and workflows.
  • Drive AI technical projects from requirements through delivery, including managing complex project schedules, removing roadblocks, and keeping processes running smoothly.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure AI product success and inform quarterly business reviews.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to align business needs with AI product strategy and drive senior-level stakeholder alignment.
  • Support client engagement from pre-sales through delivery, including serving as an AI product subject matter expert in key client discussions.
  • Clearly communicate business requirements and product value to stakeholders including executives and external partners.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of technical proficiency in AI, applying process where it creates value and designing process where it’s needed.
  • Work closely with operations teams and drive AI adoption across the portfolio.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and day-to-day support for Product Managers and Analysts as needed.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree with a degree in business administration, marketing, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a product manager driving the product development strategy and lifecycle (iterating on product roadmap and prioritizing backlog)
  • 3+ years of product management experience in AI or similar fields
  • 1+ years of experience working with AI infrastructure
    Experience with Healthcare IT, claims processing and data analytics domains.
  • Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with software development processes are often necessary for Product Managers, especially in technology-driven industries. Knowledge of agile development methodologies, software development life cycle (SDLC), and project management tools is highly beneficial.
  • Strong analytical skills to gather and interpret data, analyze market trends, and make informed decisions about product strategy and roadmap prioritization. Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for Product Managers to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and customers. This includes the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely, as well as strong presentation skills.
  • Individuals who can inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to work towards a common goal. They should be able to influence stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and drive decision-making processes effectively.
  • Experience mentoring team members or contributing to team capability development.
  • A deep understanding of customer needs, preferences, and pain points is crucial for Product Managers to develop products that meet customer expectations and deliver value. Experience with user research, customer interviews, and usability testing is beneficial.
  • Must collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure alignment and integration across all aspects of the product development and delivery process.

  • Attention to Detail: must pay close attention to detail to ensure that all project requirements are met, deliverables are of high quality, and risks are adequately addressed.
  • Time Management: skilled at organizing their own time and the time of their team members to maximize efficiency and productivity.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Travel as assigned by Leadership (10 -15%).
  • Must be able to provide high-speed internet access/connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Moving (carrying, lifting, pushing, etc.) equipment weighing up to 10 lbs. for presentations set  up, etc.
  • Exposure to moderate noise intensity is expected.
  • No adverse environmental conditions are expected.

Base compensation ranges from $140,000 to $180,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
