Investment Insights Group 

We use advanced quantitative techniques and cutting-edge technological tools to generate insights that drive outstanding investment outcomes for GIC. 

 

Business Strategy & Management Team 

You will be part of the Business Strategy & Management team within the Investment Insights Group (IIG), working at the intersection of enterprise AI, data, product strategy and organizational adoption. The team partners closely with Data Science & Innovation, Technology Group and stakeholders across GIC to scale AI and data capabilities, drive adoption of strategic platforms, and translate emerging technologies into meaningful business outcomes. 

 

Business Management & Operations 

The Business Management & Operations function serves as the operating backbone of the team, providing business management, governance and operational discipline that enables strategy, product and enablement teams to focus on delivering impact. 

 

As a Business Manager, you will be responsible for the operational health of the function, including department operations, finance and budget management, vendor and contract oversight, governance processes, portfolio management and leadership reporting. You will work across a diverse set of stakeholders to ensure initiatives are well coordinated, resources are effectively managed, external partnerships are governed effectively, and leadership has clear visibility into execution progress, risks and priorities. 

 

This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong business management, governance and stakeholder engagement skills. Success requires the ability to balance strategic oversight with operational execution while maintaining a high standard of governance, reporting discipline and delivery excellence. 

 

What will you do as a Business Manager? 

 

Department operations & coordination 

  • Manage the team’s operating cadence, planning cycles and coordination activities across multiple workstreams. 
  • Drive effective cross-functional coordination to ensure smooth execution of priorities and initiatives. 
  • Support team leadership on operational planning, decision-making processes and follow-through on key actions. 
  • Manage internal communications, announcements and business updates across the department. 
  • Coordinate departmental activities, logistics and operating processes to ensure an effective and well-run organization. 

 

Department engagement & culture 

  • Organize team engagement initiatives, knowledge-sharing sessions, retreats and community-building activities.  
  • Coordinate internal events, forums and learning activities that promote knowledge sharing and employee engagement.  

 

Finance & budget 

  • Partner with Finance to manage the department’s operating budget, including planning, forecasting, tracking and reporting.  
  • Support resource planning and expenditure management across initiatives and programmes. 
  • Ensure appropriate financial governance and controls are maintained across departmental activities and investments. 

 

Vendor, partner & contract management 

  • Manage relationships with external AI partners, vendors and service providers, serving as a key liaison between business stakeholders, vendors, Procurement and Finance. 
  • Oversee end-to-end vendor and external partners lifecycle activities, including onboarding, offboarding, contract extensions, renewals and staffing engagements, ensuring compliance with GIC policies and governance requirements. 
  • Coordinate procurement and commercial administration activities, including purchase requests, contract processing, renewals and approved vendor-related expenditures. 
  • Maintain accurate, complete and audit-ready vendor records and documentation, ensuring alignment with governance and control standards. 

 

Governance, project management & reporting 

  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks, operating processes and reporting standards across the team’s initiatives and programmes. 
  • Partner with project leads and the Associate AI Project Manager to ensure robust execution tracking, reporting discipline and project governance. 
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, control assessments and data validation exercises by coordinating required documentation and evidence.

The function operates effectively with strong governance, clear priorities and disciplined execution. Budgets and external partnerships are managed proactively, operational processes run smoothly, and leadership has timely visibility into progress, risks and resource needs. The strategy, product and enablement teams able to focus on delivering impact, supported by a strong operating backbone that enables efficient and well-governed execution. 

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role? 

  • 5-8 years of experience in business management, operations management or a related role. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operational processes, budgets, governance activities and stakeholder coordination in a complex environment. 
  • Experience in vendor management, procurement, contract administration or commercial governance. 
  • Strong understanding of project and governance management practices; familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps or similar platforms would be advantageous. 
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of governance, control and execution. 
  • Self-directed, dependable and comfortable operating independently within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
