Job description

We have a 6-month fixed-term opportunity for an Analyst to join our team based in Mascot Sydney supporting our Fleet Division analysing fleet data and admin.

Your focus and ownership will be around the daily, weekly and monthly reporting cycle for the Fleet function. You will keep management, regional teams and connected functions supplied with accurate, on-time reporting, surfaces anomalies and data integrity issues before they reach decision-makers. It combines SQL query maintenance, advanced Excel and Power Query automation, and light ad hoc analysis.

What you’ll do

  • Execute and maintain daily and monthly reporting cycles, generating reports accurately and on schedule.

  • Distribute reports to relevant stakeholders (management, regional teams and other functions) on time and in full.

  • Monitor reporting output for anomalies, trend breaks and data inconsistencies; summarise the issue and preliminary findings for management.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot the SQL queries and data pulls that feed daily, weekly and monthly reports.

  • Build, maintain and refine Excel reporting tools, using Power Query for data transformation and refresh automation.

  • Support ad hoc data requests and light analysis as directed.

What we’re looking for

Skills/Experience:

  • Degree in Mathematics, Finance, Data Science, Analytics or a related quantitative field, or equivalent demonstrable experience in a data or reporting role

  • Hands-on experience running recurring reporting cycles

  • Working knowledge of SQL (able to read, adapt and lightly troubleshoot queries)

  • Advanced Excel, including Power Query for data import and transformation

  • Exposure to Power BI or other BI / visualisation tools (highly benefical)

Attributes:

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Comfortable working with large, integrated datasets

  • Clear communicator, able to explain data anomalies concisely to a non-technical audience

  • Curiosity to investigate the root cause of data breaks (desirable)

  • Self-directed across recurring reporting cycles
