Operating in 37 countries, our platform has become the standard for design professionals around the globe. Every day, Material Bank connects thousands of designers with tens of thousands of materials from leading brands. Material Bank is the fastest and most powerful way for design professionals to search, sample, and specify materials.

Material Bank is seeking a Sr. People Operations Specialist to help drive the operational backbone of the employee experience ensuring every touchpoint, from onboarding to offboarding, is executed with precision and care.

You'll support core People operations end to end: onboarding and offboarding, benefits administration, HRIS management, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions. You'll serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, and partner closely with Legal, Finance, and IT to ensure our processes are accurate, compliant, and scalable as the organization grows.

This role suits someone who has operational discipline, is technically savvy, and brings a builder's mindset. Someone who identifies inefficiencies before they become problems, has great attention-to-detail, and treats process improvement as core to the job.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, employment changes, and HR documentation.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, open enrollment, leave administration, workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and vendor coordination.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity across HR systems.
  • Support the implementation, testing, and adoption of new HR technologies, automation tools, and system enhancements.
  • Leverage AI and HR technology to improve efficiency, automate routine tasks, and enhance the employee experience.
  • Help prepare employment agreements, compensation letters, bonus documentation, and other employee communications.
  • Support global compliance initiatives by maintaining required employment documentation and ensuring adherence to local employment practices.
  • Administer HR systems (ADP, Deel) and ATS (Greenhouse), overseeing employee record maintenance, reporting, audits, system testing, and user support- ensuring data integrity and compliance across the employee lifecycle.
  • Coordinate contractor onboarding and administration while partnering with Finance on vendor processes.
  • Support performance management programs, monthly check-ins, Internal CSAT, compensation cycles, and talent initiatives through operational coordination.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, HR systems, and People processes.
  • Partner with leadership to identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and operational efficiencies.
  • Assist with HR reporting, documentation, audits, and special projects as needed.
  • Collaborate with Recruiting and assist with coordinating interviews, debriefs, and assessments helping move candidates through the process.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, or HR Administration.
  • Experience supporting employee lifecycle processes, benefits administration, HRIS, and compliance.
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to work with large data sets in Excel
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms such as ADP Workforce Now, Deel, or similar systems.
  • Comfortable working with confidential information and exercising sound judgment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, customer-service mindset.
  • Experience supporting a distributed or global workforce is preferred.
