Social Media Assistant


Location: Remote (South Africa, preferably Cape Town, Stellenbosch)


Employment Type: Full-Time



About the Role


We are looking for a creative, proactive, and highly organised Social Media Assistant to manage and grow our online presence across multiple social media platforms. This role is ideal for someone who understands how to create engaging content, build brand awareness, and generate audience engagement while maintaining a consistent brand identity.


Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience within the recruitment industry or a strong understanding of recruitment marketing, employer branding, and talent acquisition.



Key Responsibilities


Plan, create, and schedule engaging content across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and other relevant social media platforms.

Design high-quality graphics, videos, carousels, and marketing assets using Canva.

Collaborate with recruiters and internal stakeholders to promote vacancies, candidate success stories, client wins, and company updates.

Develop social media campaigns to increase brand awareness, candidate engagement, and lead generation.

Write compelling captions and social media copy tailored to each platform.

Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages where appropriate, and encourage audience engagement.

Stay up to date with social media trends, recruitment marketing trends, and platform best practices.

Track and report on social media performance using platform analytics, making recommendations for continuous improvement.

Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all platforms.

Assist with employer branding initiatives and digital marketing campaigns.

Support the creation of additional marketing materials when required.

What We're Looking For


We're looking for someone who is creative, enthusiastic, and passionate about social media and storytelling. The ideal candidate enjoys creating engaging content, understands how to connect with audiences, and can confidently represent our brand online. Experience within recruitment is highly desirable, as you'll be promoting job opportunities, showcasing talent, and helping strengthen our employer brand across digital channels.

Requirements


Essential Requirements


Proven experience managing business social media accounts.

Advanced Canva skills (essential).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong understanding of LinkedIn and other social media platforms.

Experience creating both static and short-form video content.

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.


Preferred Experience


Previous experience working within the recruitment industry or a recruitment agency.

Understanding of recruitment marketing, employer branding, and candidate attraction.

Experience using scheduling platforms such as Buffer, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, or similar.

Basic video editing skills.

Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter content or recruitment advertising.

Knowledge of SEO and social media analytics is advantageous.
