Accreditation Specialist - Specialty Pharmacy 

 

Job Summary:

Facilitate accreditation related tasks and work closely with internal and external team members to ensure the pharmacies meet accreditation requirements. Assist as necessary to support accreditation compliance and quality initiatives.

Estimated Salary Range $70K-$80K per year DOE

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (These duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.  This document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position):

  1. Work in conjunction with internal and external team members to ensure compliance with service expectations and achievement of performance goals and objectives for each pharmacy seeking or maintaining accreditation.
  2. Confer with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and/or business technologies as it relates to improving or establishing accreditation compliance.
  3. Assist with staff training and the implementation of processes related to meeting accreditation standards including requirements for Continuous Quality Improvement, Performance Improvement projects, Quality Management, and compliance with all accreditation standards.
  4. Prepare reports and maintain records as requested or required.Participate in internal and external meetings and complete associated tasks as required.Participate and support regional and enterprise level activities as required.

  7. Participates in the maintenance of corporate compliance and legal board of pharmacy inspection parameters.
  8. Perform timely resolution to requests received from internal departments, customers, audit entities, or regulatory.
  9. Closely monitor current processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to maximize efficiency and support accreditation compliance.
  10. Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department.
  11. Comply with Maxor’s Ethical Business Conduct policy and Maxor’s Compliance Program.
  12. Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.
  13. Complete required training, as assigned, within the established timeframes.
  14. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  15. Maintain regular attendance in accordance with established policies.
  16. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education: College coursework is desirable and any combination of the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to competently perform the essential functions of the position.

 

Experience: Current, unrestricted National and/or State Certified Pharmacy Technician license. Minimum 3 years’ experience in compliance, healthcare, quality, and/or accreditation required; experience with ACHC and/or URAC specialty pharmacy accreditation required.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of pharmacy accreditation requirements such as ACHC and URAC Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation.
  2. Knowledge of generally accepted pharmacy principles, practices and procedures.
  3. Work effectively in a team environment and communicate well using virtual tools when team members are geographically dispersed.
  4. Must be detail oriented, be able to work independently, and possess self-motivation skills.
  5. Work effectively in situations with limited information and moderate ambiguity.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to interact with a wide variety of individuals to successfully provide optimal pharmacy support.
  7. Ability to work with close attention to detail and minimal errors. Must be alert, attentive, and precise.
  8. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and willing to learn Smartsheet, Confluence, and other tools as necessary.
  9. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
