*This is a remote, part-time position at 20 hours per week*

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Independence & Mobility Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of program services according to Independence & Mobility Program guidelines and SOPs. This includes collaborating with peers and management on program development, implementation, monitoring, tracking, data collection and following action plans to achieve program deliverables and communication to all stakeholders. Performs other related duties as assigned by leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role operates under a unified job description for the Independence and Mobility Manager. While all team members are expected to perform the core responsibilities outlined below, this position is currently focused on Virtual Home Assessments. Focus areas may evolve over time based on organizational priorities and program needs.

VHA
  • Conduct virtual home assessments to evaluate accessibility, safety, and functional use of key living areas, including entrances, exits, bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, and pathways.
  • Identify environmental barriers and assess current and future accessibility needs, including mobility, transfers, activities of daily living, emergency preparedness, and evacuation planning.
  • Educate individuals and caregivers on accessibility solutions, safety strategies, future planning, and available funding and equipment resources to support informed decision-making and maximize independence.
  • Develop individualized recommendations and provide comprehensive written reports outlining home modification, adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and accessibility solutions based on assessment findings.
  • Respond to follow-up questions and provide additional consultation as needed.
  • Maintain accurate assessment records and status updates within Click Up, ensuring timely tracking of requests, appointments, report completion, and program metrics.
  • Provide clients with program evaluation surveys to gather feedback and measure outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education + experience; Assistive Technology Professional (ATP), Occupational Therapist (OT), Physical Therapist (PT), Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) certification/licensure helpful
  • Knowledge of durable medical equipment and assistive technology required
  • Knowledge of the types and variety of equipment as it relates to the specific progression of individuals living with ALS preferred
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a database system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Salesforce and database experience a plus
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; must be a self-starter
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent customer service skills

PAY TRANSPARENCY:
The ALS Association's pay range for this position is $33.00 - $36.00 per hour.

The ALS Association has compensation ranges for various work locations throughout the United States, allowing us to compensate employees competitively and consistently in diverse geographic markets. The above-listed listed range shows prospective compensation for this role; the appropriate range will be established by what is eventually determined to be the candidate's primary work location. Various factors, including the complexity and significance of the role, job duties/requirements, relevant experience and abilities, and primary work location, determine individual compensation. Compensation ranges are evaluated and typically adjusted on a regular basis. Offers are made within the compensation range that is in effect at the time of the job offer.

The Association may, at its discretion, offer merit-based increases tied to individual performance. The benefits listed may differ depending on employment status with the Association.
