Job description

nClouds is seeking an experienced Director of Project Management to lead and strengthen our project delivery function across a fast-paced, global technology organization. This is a fully remote position based in Guatemala, offering the opportunity to work directly with U.S. leadership, delivery teams, and customers while helping shape how complex cloud and technology engagements are executed.

Position Summary

The Director, Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for leading and scaling the Project Management Office for an AWS Premier Tier Services Partner, ensuring consistent, predictable, and high-quality delivery of cloud transformation engagements. This leader will establish project governance, delivery standards, portfolio management, and operational excellence across AWS consulting services, working closely with executive leadership, Delivery, Sales, Solutions Architecture, Customer Success, and AWS Partner teams.

The Director of PMO will drive execution excellence across complex cloud migration, modernization, application development, data, AI/ML, DevOps, and managed services engagements. This role will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with exceptional customer outcomes while developing a world-class project management organization capable of supporting rapid company growth.

The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with deep experience managing professional services organizations, cloud consulting engagements, and enterprise project portfolios within an AWS ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

PMO Leadership

  • Lead the strategic vision, development, and continuous improvement of the Project Management Office.
  • Establish enterprise project management methodologies, governance, standards, and best practices aligned with AWS consulting delivery.
  • Build scalable PMO processes that support growth across multiple practices including Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Data & AI, Migration & Modernization, Managed Services, and Application Modernization.
  • Develop a culture of operational excellence, accountability, transparency, and customer obsession.

Portfolio & Delivery Management

  • Oversee a portfolio of complex AWS consulting engagements from initiation through successful delivery.
  • Partner with Delivery Leadership to prioritize projects based on strategic objectives, customer commitments, resource capacity, and financial performance.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, within budget, and achieve contractual and business outcomes.
  • Monitor portfolio health through executive dashboards, KPIs, utilization metrics, financial performance, customer satisfaction, and delivery risk indicators.
  • Implement consistent project health reviews, stage gates, executive steering committees, and governance routines.

Operational Excellence

  • Define and maintain project lifecycle methodologies for Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models.
  • Standardize project documentation, reporting, risk management, issue escalation, change control, and executive communications.
  • Establish project intake, prioritization, forecasting, capacity planning, and resource allocation processes.
  • Develop standardized delivery playbooks for AWS consulting engagements.
  • Foster collaboration across Engineering, Architecture, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, Operations, and Executive Leadership.
  • Serve as the executive point of contact for strategic customer delivery governance.
  • Partner with executive sponsors to ensure alignment on business outcomes, timelines, budgets, and expectations.
  • Facilitate Executive Business Reviews (EBRs), steering committees, and customer governance meetings.
  • Manage executive-level escalations with professionalism and urgency.
  • Drive continuous improvement across project delivery processes.
  • Implement portfolio management tools, reporting automation, and delivery analytics.
  • Develop KPIs measuring project health, delivery quality, profitability, customer satisfaction (NPS/CSAT), resource utilization, and delivery predictability.
  • Partner with Finance to improve forecasting, revenue recognition support, and project profitability.
  • Collaborate with AWS Partner Management and Alliance teams to support AWS-funded programs including MAP, Migration Acceleration Program, Well-Architected Framework Reviews, Marketplace engagements, and Strategic Collaboration Agreements (SCAs).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification required.
  • 10+ years of progressive project and program management experience.
  • 5+ years leading a Project Management Office (PMO), Program Management Office, or enterprise consulting delivery organization.
  • Experience managing cloud transformation or technology consulting engagements.
  • Experience leading multiple concurrent enterprise projects exceeding several million dollars in delivery value.
  • Proven success building PMO governance, standards, methodologies, and delivery frameworks.
  • Strong financial acumen including project forecasting, budgeting, margin management, and resource planning.
  • Exceptional executive communication, fluency in English, leadership, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master's degree.
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (minimum preferred).
  • AWS Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional certification strongly preferred.
  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), PgMP, Scrum Master, SAFe, or Lean certifications.
  • Experience working within an AWS Premier Tier Services Partner, cloud consulting organization, or systems integrator.
  • Experience supporting AWS Marketplace, MAP, Well-Architected Reviews, or AWS Partner Programs.

Technical Competencies

  • Advanced knowledge of Project Portfolio Management (PPM).
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Experience managing cloud infrastructure and software implementation projects.
  • Proficiency with project management platforms such as:
    • Jira
    • Azure DevOps
    • Smartsheet
    • Microsoft Project
    • Monday.com
    • Asana
