Role Overview:

Immatics is seeking a strategic and highly collaborative Senior Director, Health Economics and Outcomes Research and Real-World Evidence (HEOR/RWE) to establish and lead the company’s global HEOR and RWE capabilities. Reporting to the Vice President, Medical Affairs, this role will be responsible for generating the clinical, economic, patient-centered, and real-world evidence needed to demonstrate the value of these therapies across their development and commercialization lifecycles.

The Senior Director will develop evidence strategies that address the distinct clinical and access considerations associated with innovative oncology therapies, including personalized cell therapy. The role provides an exceptional opportunity to shape the value evidence strategy for Immatics’ portfolio as the company progresses late-stage development, launch readiness, and portfolio expansion.

Location: Remote

Salary Range: $260,000 - $295,000

Basic Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific / medical degree required (PhD, PharmD, MD, MPH or equivalent).

  • 12+ years of biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience, including relevant experience in evidence strategy and study execution, HEOR, RWE, market access evidence generation, epidemiology, or outcomes research.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific / medical degree in health economics, outcomes research, epidemiology, health services research, public health, pharmacy, medicine, biostatistics, or a related discipline

  • Demonstrated expertise in oncology HEOR and RWE.

  • Knowledge of U.S. payer and formulary decision-making, integrated delivery networks, oncology care delivery, reimbursement processes, and evidence requirements.

  • Experience with cell therapy, gene therapy, other advanced therapy medicinal products, or treatments involving specialized centers and complex patient pathways.

  • Experience managing external research collaborations, data vendors, consultants, and contract research organizations.

  • Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications, congress presentations, or other high-impact scientific contributions.

  • Ability to communicate complex methodological and technical information clearly to scientific and nontechnical audiences.

  • Commitment to scientific integrity, patient-focused evidence generation, and high ethical and compliance standards.

  • Experience supporting interactions with NICE, G-BA, IQWiG, HAS, ICER, CMS, or other payer and HTA organizations.

In this Role You Will:  

HEOR and RWE Strategy

  • Develop and lead the global HEOR and RWE strategy for Immatics’ portfolio, aligned with clinical development plans, medical strategy, regulatory priorities, market access objectives, and commercialization readiness.

  • Develop integrated evidence plans and evidence-generation roadmaps that identify key research questions, evidence gaps, study priorities, data sources, timelines, and communication plans.

  • Establish an HEOR and RWE framework that supports assets from early clinical development through pivotal studies, regulatory review, launch, and post-launch evidence generation.

  • Anticipate evidence requirements across the United States and other priority markets, incorporating payer, reimbursement, HTA, and health-policy considerations into development plans.

  • Develop annual HEOR/RWE objectives, operating plans, resource requirements, and budgets.


Evidence Generation and Research Execution

  • Design and oversee HEOR and RWE studies. Develop evidence that characterizes the complete patient and healthcare-system impact of personalized cell therapy, including testing, referral, treatment-center infrastructure, manufacturing intervals, bridging therapy, hospitalization, adverse-event management, follow-up care, and long-term outcomes.

  • Identify fit-for-purpose real-world data sources, including electronic health records, claims databases, registries, genomic and biomarker datasets, specialty pharmacy or treatment-center data, and linked data platforms.

  • Oversee external research organizations, consultants, data vendors, academic collaborators, and other partners, including study design, contracting, budgets, timelines, deliverables, and quality.


Clinical Development and Launch Readiness

  • Partner with Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Regulatory Affairs, and Medical Affairs to incorporate appropriate economic, patient-reported, healthcare-resource, and real-world endpoints into clinical development programs.

  • Generate evidence addressing the unique value considerations of potentially durable oncology therapies, including limitations of conventional short-term economic assessments and uncertainty associated with extrapolating long-term benefit.

  • Support payer and HTA evidence requirements, formulary submissions, value dossiers, health-economic models, scientific advice engagements, and other access-related materials.

  • ·Collaborate with Market Access and Medical Affairs to develop evidence-based tools and resources for appropriate scientific exchange with healthcare decision-makers.


External Engagement and Scientific Communication

  • Establish and maintain relationships with HEOR experts, oncology researchers, payers, HTA stakeholders, healthcare-system leaders, treatment centers, patient organizations, and real-world data partners.

  • Lead external research collaborations with academic institutions, oncology networks, integrated delivery systems, payer organizations, and treatment centers.

  • Present complex research findings clearly and credibly to executive leadership, cross-functional teams, external experts, payers, policymakers, and scientific audiences.

  • Develop and execute publication and congress strategies for HEOR and RWE research, including abstracts, manuscripts, podium presentations, posters, and scientific communications.

  • Ensure all external communications comply with applicable legal, regulatory, medical, publication, and company standards.

Qualified candidates will participate in a structured interview process, which includes:

  • A final-stage interview, which may include an in-person meeting at our U.S. Headquarters in Houston, TX
