Application Specialist for Water Treatment with a location in Europe.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Partner with the European Sales Organization to drive business growth, provide advanced technical support, and deliver effective customer solutions that strengthen and protect existing business.
Support strategic customer opportunities and major tenders through site assessments, technical audits, solution design, proposal development, and customer presentations.
Conduct wastewater treatment surveys, process evaluations, and operational audits to identify optimization opportunities and deliver measurable customer value.
Develop, deliver, and facilitate technical training programs for customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with R&D, Global Product Management, and Application Teams to support new product introductions, technology validation, and innovation deployment.
Quantify and communicate customer value through technical case studies, Value Advantage projects, sustainability assessments, and ROI calculations.
Create, maintain, and continuously improve technical documentation, application tools, digital resources, and knowledge-sharing platforms.
Support the implementation and optimization of digital monitoring and control solutions, leveraging data-driven insights to improve wastewater treatment performance and operational efficiency.
Act as a recognized technical expert in industrial and municipal wastewater treatment, providing guidance on process optimization, regulatory considerations, and best practices.
Travel across Europe (approximately 50-70%) to support customers, business development activities, and technology implementation.
The Individual:
Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or related field
Significant experience in industrial and / or municipal wastewater treatment technologies (sludge treatment, dewatering technologies)
Experience in municipal tendering process
Ideally experience in cooperation with engineering firms, regulatory knowledge for EU and local authorities
Strong understanding of coagulants, flocculants, and process chemicals
Ability to communicate value creation (economic + environmental) internal & to customers
Strong customer-facing communication skills
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
Resilient, flexible, and able to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
Previous sales experience in water treatment business preferred
