About the Role
As a Risk & Compliance Advisor, you will partner and drive an uplift in Risk Management practices across the Consumer Distribution business, this includes providing 1LOD risk and compliance advisory and management support in Consumer Distribution through embedding, challenging, guiding and testing operational risk and compliance frameworks.

Role Type: 8-month Fixed Term Contract, Full-time
What will your day look like?
As an Advisor, Risk & Compliance you are accountable for:
- Embedding robust and consistent risk and compliance frameworks and building a mature risk culture across Consumer Distribution
- Understanding banking risk and compliance requirements (policy, legislative, regulatory, audit, and Business Continuity Management).
- Planning for and deliver key risk and compliance outputs including risk profiles, development and monitoring of compliance plans, risk reporting and monitoring, managing/influencing any actions required to manage risk to tolerable levels, and leading coordination of information requirements for regulatory or internal reviews.
- Developing and monitoring banking key risk indicators, loss events and reports to identify opportunities to improve the control environment and provide recommendations.
- Acting as a Consumer Distribution subject matter expert and provide risk and compliance advisory input and/or sign off on initiatives and regulatory and legislative changes; risk management, incident management and issue solution; addressing control weaknesses, action planning to manage risk and compliance within tolerance levels; control testing outcomes to ensure understanding of operational and compliance control effectiveness; and information for 2LOD, 3LOD, regulatory reviews
- Participating in the monthly Consumer Distribution Risk & Compliance Committee meetings, including monthly (with support from other members of the Consumer Distribution reporting and presentation to the Committee
What will you bring?
- Proven years of appropriate industry experience in banking and/or risk & compliance management and advice
- Significant understanding of full range of Suncorp Bank products services including self-service devices
- Track record of successful implementation of financial governance /compliance. Solid years
- Demonstrated experience in influential communication to senior management (highly regarded)
- Experience in communications and change management (highly regarded)
- Experience in building successful customer relationships at all levels
