Social Discovery Group (SDG) is a group of social discovery companies. SDG solves the problems of loneliness, isolation, and disconnection - transforming virtual intimacy into the new normal. SDG’s products redefine the way people interact and connect with one another.
Our portfolio includes social entertainment platforms designed to connect people online across different cultures and regions of the world.
We bring together a team of like-minded people and IT professionals who specialize in creating and developing globally impactful social discovery products. Our international team of digital nomads works remotely from all over the world.
We’re proud to be a two-time “Great Place to Work” winner (USA & Japan, 2024–2025) and a Top-5 Company for Work-From-Anywhere Jobs (FlexJobs, 2025).
We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer (Mobile) to join one of our most well-established products.
Your main tasks will be:
1. Drive the quality assurance of business features from technical hand-off to successful production release.
2. Review specifications, prepare test plans, and create comprehensive test cases and checklists before the stabilization phase begins.
3. Provide realistic estimates for testing tasks and reliably meet your committed deadlines.
4. Conduct functional, exploratory, regression, UI/UX, and E2E API testing across various real devices and emulators.
5. Develop, maintain, and scale test automation frameworks (UI + API) and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
6. Automate core user workflows and manage test data setup/teardown to ensure stable execution.
7. Conduct thorough test documentation and code reviews for peers and successfully pass reviews of your own work.
8. Collaborate closely with Product, Mobile, Back-End engineers, and Architects throughout the development cycle.
9. Support store releases (App Store / Google Play) by validating builds, deeplinks, pre-release testing, and live performance/crash monitoring.
10. Track and improve key QA metrics, including test coverage, defect density, and automation framework health.
We expect from you:
Testing Fundamentals
1. Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test design, and overall software testing processes.
2. Solid understanding of mobile app lifecycle (iOS & Android), platform guidelines, and testing on real devices/emulators.
3. Experience with debugging proxy tools (Proxyman, Charles, Fiddler) and native log analysis (ADB logcat, Xcode Console).
4. Familiarity with API testing (Postman, REST/GraphQL) and test data management.
5. Hands-on experience with bug tracking, test management tools (Jira, Allure Testops), and version control systems (Git).
Test Automation & CI/CD
1. Hands-on experience with mobile automation frameworks (e.g., Maestro, Appium) and basic scripting skills (e.g., JavaScript, Python).
2. Familiarity with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Bitrise).
3. Experience with crash reporting tools (e.g., Sentry) and basic store submission workflows (App Store / Google Play).
