Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Engineer I to support the study of tribo-charging during EVAs on the lunar surface. This poses an electrostatic discharge (ESD) risk for crew safety. The lack of ability to predict charge level in the lunar surface plasma environment hinders the ability to monitor/manage/mitigate this ESD risk. Successful applicants shall support the development of a high-level test plan to characterize the problem of tribocharging during EVAs on the lunar surface, help measure tribocharging on various suit materials at KSC, and support tests in the Marshall PLANET vacuum chamber to quantify the tribocharging environment for the Artemis III mission.
