The Vice President, Field Sales is an executive leadership role responsible for defining and driving Aspen Dental’s national sales performance strategy. This individual will serve as the enterprise-wide owner of sales productivity, consultative excellence, and commercial capability—leading the teams, systems, and programs that enable Aspen’s field organization to consistently help patients to say yes to care while improving the patient experience.
The VP will partner closely with sales enablement, field operations, clinical leadership, marketing and human resources to build a high-performing, scalable sales organization anchored in the Aspen Coaching Model and Consult Technique. This is a transformational leadership role for an executive who can operate at both a strategic altitude and a field-execution level, driving measurable results across a complex, multi-market organization.

Essential Responsibilities
Ownership of Enterprise Sales, ACM and ACT Performance
- Define and own Aspen Dental’s national sales effectiveness strategy, establishing the vision, priorities, and performance standards that govern consultative selling across all markets and regions.
- Partner with senior operations, clinical, and human resources leadership to align on execution plans, performance management approaches and goals.
- Establish governance and accountability structures that ensure ACT adoption is consistently measured, managed, and improved across all regions and markets.
- Support the development and refresh of ACT training curricula to ensure the program reflects current best practices and business requirements.
- Champion the integration of new tools, technologies, and methodologies—including AI-enabled coaching, data analytics, and digital learning platforms—to continuously advance program effectiveness.
- Serve as the leader of the Aspen Consult Technique, ensuring the program remains current, differentiated, and consistently applied across the enterprise.
Organizational Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing sales effectiveness organization, including Sales Directors, Regional Sales Managers and Patient Care Consultants.
- Establish a rigorous talent pipeline through intentional succession planning, leadership development programming, and performance-based career pathing for sales leadership roles.
- Define and drive a consistent hiring standard for sales leadership; partner with talent acquisition to attract and onboard team members aligned to Aspen’s performance culture.
- Coach and develop direct reports through regular performance reviews, individualized development plans, and ongoing feedback.
- Build and sustain an organizational culture defined by high accountability, growth mindset, and a deep commitment to consultative excellence.
Performance Analytics & Commercial Insight
- Own the enterprise sales performance reporting framework; define the key performance indicators, dashboards, and analytical models that inform executive decision-making.
- Leverage data, field insights, and patient feedback to identify systemic performance gaps, emerging opportunities, and areas requiring strategic intervention.
- Translate complex performance data into clear, compelling narratives for executive leadership, the Board, and other senior stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Stakeholder Leadership
- Act as the primary commercial voice in enterprise planning processes, ensuring sales effectiveness considerations are embedded in operations, marketing, workforce, and technology strategies.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with field leadership, clinical, marketing, practice support and owners to ensure coordinated, aligned approaches to patient conversion, revenue growth and an improved patient experience.
- Drive organizational change management initiatives that align the field to new commercial strategies, tools, or performance expectations.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in sales, commercial operations, or field performance
- Demonstrated success building and leading national or multi-market sales organizations in healthcare, dental, retail, or consumer services environments
- Proven track record of designing and scaling enterprise-wide sales programs, training systems, and performance management frameworks
- Executive-level experience leading through cross-functional influence; ability to drive alignment and results without direct authority across a complex, matrixed organization
- Deep expertise in consultative selling methodologies and sales coaching
- Strong analytical and financial acumen; experience using data and performance analytics to drive strategic decision-making
- Exceptional executive communication, presence, and stakeholder management skills; experience presenting to Boards and senior leadership teams
- Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and retain high-performing leaders and build organizational capability over time
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% of the time in support of field travel, program deployment, and other organizational priorities.

- Salary: Annual pay range: $225,000 - $250,000, plus bonus/incentives
