Job description

The Staff Engineer designs and implements enterprise-wide architectural solutions and patterns used by other developers. The Architect’s focus is on the entire system or platform, the entire software delivery life cycle or development pipeline, and implementing up-to-date technology solutions and practices. This position provides indirect, consulting-style guidance and leadership to technical teams. Develops cutting edge solutions to our hardest engineering problems, and mentors across the organization through feedback and peer reviews to uplevel our engineering teams.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Leads and/or participates in solution design to satisfy a wide range of business needs.
2.    Acts as a consultant with internal and external clients to understand business needs and identify potential solutions.
3.    Provides technical direction, training and mentoring to technical team members.
4.    Develops and champions best practices and standards in the areas of technology and security.
5.    Provides general oversight to ensure adherence to methodologies, practices and standards.
6.    Keeps abreast of advancements and changes in technology, and develops an understanding of how new technologies can be leveraged to provide business solutions.

7. Develops and deploys cutting edge software solutions.
 


EDUCATION: 
1.    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

EXPERIENCE: 
1.    5+ years of experience in software development with high-level expertise in design, coding, infrastructure and databases.  
2.    2+ years of experience as a technical influencer.

COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
1.    Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
2.    Understanding of best practices and methods to continuously integrate and deploy applications, architect micro-service solutions and develop APIs for internal and external use.
3.    In-depth knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, including delivery pipelines.  (Exposure to agile or iterative approaches to delivery preferred.)
4.    Working knowledge of the network and/or server infrastructure required to host an application.
5.    Strong verbal and written communication skills.
6.    Ability to quickly learn new technologies and business functions.
7.    Business acumen in proposing feasible business solutions.
8.    Highly motivated and self-directed.
9.    Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a team.
10.    Strong bias towards action, delivery and experimentation.

11. Knowledge and experience in the latest LLM models for faster code development.

12. Track record of speed of delivery performance for cutting edge software development.
