Job Description

Join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Product Specialist III covering Italy, V4, NSEE and Middle East countries. You'll contribute to revenue growth and customer success through technical sales expertise.

You'll represent our Regenerative Medicine portfolio that covers iPSC workflow, stem cell maintenance, expansion and differentiation, cell therapy media and reagents and viral vector production. You will be working closely with customers to understand their needs and deliver effective solutions that enable them to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

As a technical advisor, you'll develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts while providing technical expertise across the sales cycle. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and technical support to implement sales strategies and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

  

The role

  • Apply working knowledge of Professional, Consultative, and Strategic Selling skills to maintain existing business, develop incremental business in existing accounts, and conduct cold calls to develop new accounts.
  • Demonstrate use of selling skills in the field, such as making good opening statements, connecting with the customer, asking high gain questions, creating the value proposition and closing.
  • Participate in sales training programs as presented by the company to develop appropriate selling skills consistent with the Company philosophy, policies and procedures.
  • Call on all organizational levels and functional areas within assigned account which influence purchasing decisions.
  • Develop, write, and execute a strategic business plan for managing assigned territory annually, updated quarterly
  • Deliver presentations to customer on new products to promote adoption.
  • Maintain and increase current customer database through Company customer relations management software (Salesforce CRM). Use system completely to fulfill management expectations recording and utilizing customer and sales information.
  • Utilise data sources to analyze and capitalize on territory opportunities with the greatest ROI. Communicate key competitive activities, trends, and changing customer development plans and priorities, which includes emerging customers.
  • Attain or exceed assigned sales goals, profit goals, and market share goals consistently within expense guidelines.
  • Provide regularly oral and written communication of successes, failures, best practices etc to improve the overall operating efficiency of the team, region and sales organization.
  • Contact and return calls to research scientists at all accounts for sales presentations, information through telephone, virtual calls, e-mail or personal visits daily
  • Utilise excellent level of product knowledge and applications to successfully conduct effective consultative selling presentations.
  • Utilise knowledge of existing and potential customer status regarding Company and competitors’ products in selling presentations.

Skills Required

  • Master degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field; (PhD preferred) or the equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • A working knowledge of Stem Cell workflow is required. 
  • Proven track record in a similar sales role.
  • Knowledge of accounts in territory preferred.
  • Strong relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Ability to analyze market trends and competitive landscape
  • Experience with customer contact, teaching or public speaking helpful. 
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with ability to explain complex technical concepts
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning capabilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a matrix environment
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills
  • Travel requirements of 75% within assigned territory
  • Valid driver's license and ability to lift/move benchtop instruments as needed
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications, digital tools and social media selling.
  • Fluent Italian and English
