Job description

Commercial Operations Specialist - Remote

The Commercial Operations Specialist plays a key role in owning and driving organization, execution, and visibility across a growing commercial organization. This position serves as an operational leader for customer initiatives, partnering closely with sales leadership and cross functional teams to ensure promotional activity, pricing, documentation, and customer requirements are executed accurately and on time.

Commercial and Sales Operations

  • Own and maintain customer pricing books and commercial documentation across assigned accounts
  • Lead promotional setup and execution across customer systems and internal platforms
  • Own the integrity of customer portals, item submissions, forms, and required documentation by identifying discrepancies and resolving issues proactively
  • Monitor customer‑specific requirements, submission timelines, and driving timely resolution of follow‑up items
  • Serve as a primary point of coordination for retailer and broker communication related to operational and commercial execution needs
  • Own setup coordination and documentation for private label and co‑manufacturing opportunities
  • Develop and maintain promotional calendars, trackers, and supporting sales documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve and scale commercial processes as the organization grows

Project Management and Organization

  • Manage timelines and cross‑functional follow‑up for customer initiatives, launches, and commercial projects
  • Drive accountability for open items and ensure timely completion across sales, marketing, supply chain, finance, quality, and operations
  • Establish and maintain highly organized records and documentation to improve visibility and eliminate last‑minute execution challenges
  • Contribute to a more proactive, well‑prepared commercial organization through strong ownership, communication, and follow‑through

Analytics and Reporting

  • Collect, organize, and analyze customer, promotional, and syndicated data to support sales efforts
  • Identify trends, insights, and selling opportunities through data analysis
  • Build, maintain, and enhance Excel‑based reports, trackers, and comparative sales analyses that improve visibility into performance and execution
  • Support customer‑facing selling stories and business reviews with clear, actionable insights

Presentation and Commercial Support

  • Own the development and organization of sales presentations and customer decks ensuring content is accurate and relevant
  • Create presentation frameworks, data sections, charts, and supporting materials that enable effective selling conversations
  • Partner with sales and marketing leadership to ensure materials are accurate, aligned, and customer ready
  • Support internal sales meetings, planning sessions, and key commercial initiatives through strong preparation, analysis and coordination

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Three or more years of experience in CPG sales support, sales operations, commercial operations, category support, or a related field
  • Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to build reports, analyze data, and present findings clearly
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong communication, follow‑up, and execution skills
  • Self‑starter mindset with a demonstrated ability to identify issues and drive solutions independently
  • Experience working with retailer portals, customer systems, and commercial documentation
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and with external partners

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in food, beverage, frozen, or consumer packaged goods
  • Experience supporting private label or co‑manufacturing business
  • Familiarity with syndicated data platforms such as Circana, Nielsen, or SPINS
  • Experience with promotional management, trade planning, or TPM systems
  • Broker management or retailer support experience
  • Experience building customer presentations and business review materials
