The Associate Director of Social Performance Opportunity:
The Associate Director of Social Performance serves as both a strategic leader and hands-on digital marketing expert for Townsquare Ignite's National Team. This role owns a portfolio of advertiser accounts while also providing leadership for the Ignite Pro buying division.
As both a trusted client advisor and digital practitioner, you'll oversee campaign strategy, media buying, optimization, performance reporting, and long-term client success across multiple digital channels. You'll also play a key leadership role in developing the Ignite Pro team by establishing operational standards, mentoring media buyers, and building scalable processes that drive exceptional client results.
Success in this role is measured by client retention, campaign performance, revenue growth, operational excellence, team development, and measurable business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Client Strategy & Account Ownership
- Serve as the primary strategic advisor and point of contact for assigned client accounts.
- Develop a deep understanding of client goals, business challenges, and growth opportunities.
- Lead campaign strategy, performance reviews, and optimization discussions.
- Build strong client relationships that drive retention, satisfaction, and long-term growth.
- Identify opportunities to expand services and increase client value.
Campaign Management & Media Buying
- Build, launch, manage, and optimize campaigns across paid social, paid search, streaming TV, video, programmatic, and emerging digital channels.
- Manage campaign budgets, audience targeting, bidding strategies, creative testing, conversion tracking, and pacing.
- Monitor campaign performance and implement data-driven optimizations to maximize results.
- Ensure campaigns are executed according to platform best practices and Ignite operational standards.
Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze campaign performance and identify opportunities to improve lead generation, conversions, ROI, and overall business outcomes.
- Build and present client-facing reports that translate campaign data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Continuously test new audiences, creative, bidding strategies, and campaign approaches to improve performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales, Account Management, Creative, Search Strategists, Campaign Managers, Interactive Strategists, and Operations to ensure successful campaign execution and client satisfaction.
- Support new client onboarding, campaign launches, and ongoing strategic initiatives.
- Foster strong communication across teams to deliver a seamless client experience.
Performance Accountability
- Own the performance of an assigned book of business, including campaign delivery, lead quality, client satisfaction, and business outcomes.
- Drive account growth through proactive optimization, strategic planning, and continuous improvement.
- Stay current on digital marketing trends, platform updates, attribution methodologies, and industry best practices.
Divisional Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop Media Strategists and Buyers within the Ignite Pro division.
- Manage onboarding, coaching, workload balancing, performance reviews, and professional development for direct reports.
- Establish team goals, monitor capacity, and support hiring and organizational growth.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance.
Operational Excellence
- Develop and improve campaign workflows, operating procedures, quality standards, and service-level expectations.
- Establish performance benchmarks and scalable processes that improve efficiency and support division growth.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements through automation, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience managing and optimizing digital marketing campaigns across paid social, paid search, programmatic, streaming TV, video, or other performance marketing channels.
- Experience managing client relationships and serving as a strategic marketing advisor.
- Hands-on experience within platforms such as Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, DV360, The Trade Desk, LinkedIn Ads, TikTok Ads, or similar advertising platforms.
- Strong understanding of audience targeting, bidding strategies, attribution, conversion tracking, and campaign optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze performance data and translate insights into measurable business results.
- Previous experience leading, mentoring, or managing digital marketing professionals is preferred.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Agency, media, or client-facing digital marketing experience strongly preferred.
