Job description

Our client, a purpose-driven advertising agency in Austin, Texas is recruiting for an Account Manager to join their team. All of their work promotes public health, traffic safety, environmental health, and social justice for government and nonprofit clients. The Account Manager will join a passionate and dedicated team working on CapMetro, Austin’s public transportation system and WIC (Women, Infants & Children), a federally funded nutrition program for pregnant, breastfeeding women and for families with children younger than five.

Reporting to the SVP/Account Director, the Account Manager will take an active role in all aspects of client service and relationship building, from planning and strategy through campaign development and ongoing campaign oversight to reporting to project completion. The position works with clients and the agency's creative, media, public relations/outreach, and digital teams.

The Account Manager must live in the Austin metro area and will be expected to work on-site full-time during the initial training period. Hybrid work-from-home options can be discussed once onboarding is complete.

Responsibilities:

        Effectively execute strategies, problem-solve, and manage day-to-day account work.

        Develop trusted relationships between client and agency.

        Become a valued point person between internal departments.

        Participate in all aspects of accounts: planning, budgeting, research, creative development, media planning, social media, PR, website development, video/photo production, and more.

        Prepare for and participate in day-to-day client/internal meetings and presentations; take lead on follow-up including status reports, meeting notes, and next steps.

        Social media profile maintenance including scheduling and monitoring posts, reviewing posts, and gathering data for quarterly reports.

        Coordinate with instructional designer to provide quality assurance/proofing of educational online courses.

        Develop and manage campaign and project timelines.

        Coordinate with agency partners and vendors.

        Stay current on industry/client issues, politics, and competitive reviews and analysis; provide intelligence to team and others in agency when relevant.

        Support VP/Account Director.

Qualifications:

        Minimum of a BA/BS degree.

        3+ years prior advertising/marketing agency account service experience or similar project management experience.

        Excellent writing/grammar skills. Written edit test part of interview process.

        Problem-solver mindset.

        Strong verbal communication skills; able to present ideas with clarity and conviction.

        Breadth of experience in advertising, digital/social media, PR, outreach, paid media, strategy, and video production is preferred.

        Excellent organizational and prioritization skills; able to manage multiple projects and stay on top of the details.

        Able to work well under pressure and tight timelines.

        Able to proof/edit documents.

        Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

        Enthusiastic, imaginative, approachable, outgoing, open to new ideas, and diplomatic.

        Quick study.

        Great sense of humor is a plus.

Skills That Are a Plus:

        Experience with government and/or public awareness campaigns.

        Experience in health care, public transportation, environment,  and/or education categories.

        Experience with social media content creation.

        Proven history managing client relationships and successful campaigns.

        Experience coordinating new business pitches or other presentations.

        Proficient in Spanish
