Director of Law Firm Relations
Full-Time • Remote
At LegalBillReview.com, we sit at a unique intersection: between the companies paying legal bills and the firms sending them. The Director of Law Firm Relations is the person who owns that relationship — and keeps it running smoothly even when things get complicated.
This is a high-impact role for a former AmLaw or BigLaw attorney who knows the law firm world from the inside. You understand how firms operate, how billing decisions get made, and how to navigate difficult conversations while keeping everyone at the table. You’re not here to play referee — you’re here to drive resolution.
You’ll report directly to our VP of Law Firm Relations and serve as a key external face of a fast-growing company that is reshaping how corporate legal spend gets managed.
Serve as the primary point of contact for law firms navigating billing discrepancies with our clients — moving fast, meeting tight deadlines, and driving resolution with short turnaround times
Own a high-volume mix of email, phone, and video communications with both law firms and our corporate clients to work through open billing issues and align on billing procedures
Represent LegalBillReview.com in internal strategy meetings focused on improving processes that affect law firms, clients, and our team
Hold the dual mandate that defines this role: protect our clients’ interests and preserve the law firm relationships they depend on — simultaneously
Review detailed billing analyses, craft precise responses to law firms, and make sharp revisions under pressure
5–10 years of experience at a large law firm, preferably AmLaw 100 or 200 firm — you know the culture, the politics, and the billing dynamics from the inside
A strong command of legal terminology, billing practices, and a realistic sense of how long legal work actually takes
Comfort analyzing large volumes of billing data and producing clear, well-reasoned written responses and revisions
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive matters without dropping the ball
A commitment to the highest standards of compliant and ethical billing — non-negotiable
Sophisticated interpersonal skills — you’re persuasive, tactful, and know how to de-escalate without backing down
Excellent conflict resolution instincts; you stay sharp and composed in high-pressure situations
Polished, concise writing that can make a complex billing argument feel clear and credible
Full accountability for your results — you own your outcomes, good or bad, and act accordingly
We’re a fast-growing, remote-first company on a mission to bring transparency and accountability to legal billing. Our team is sharp, collaborative, and moves with intention. We work hard, support each other, and genuinely respect that life exists outside of work hours.
If you’re looking for a role where your law firm expertise translates into real, measurable impact — without the billable hour grind — this is it.
