LegalBillReview.com

LegalBillReview.com provides comprehensive legal bill review services for corporate legal teams aimed at identifying and correcting billing errors, along with non-compliant charges on outside counsel invoices. The team consists of U.S.-based licensed attorneys who conduct thorough analyses of legal bills, ensuring both accuracy and compliance. LegalBillReview.com achieves verified savings for companies, improving the overall transparency and effectiveness of legal billing practices. LegalBillReview.com was founded in 2016 to address a significant and ongoing need in the market: managing the complexities of outside counsel billing with a balance of technology and human expertise. Inspired by the vision of our co-founder, the late Joe Hopkins, we’ve remained committed to delivering exceptional value through a combination of precision, insight, and trusted relationships. What Sets Us Apart While advancements in technology have transformed legal operations, the value of human expertise remains irreplaceable—especially when it comes to managing trusted relationships with outside counsel. Our team of U.S.-based, licensed attorneys specializes in reviewing the nuanced and subjective nature of legal billing. We work directly with law firms to achieve meaningful savings while fostering "buy-in" and preserving productive long-term relationships. Complementing Technology with Human Expertise Our service is designed to complement your existing Enterprise Legal Management (ELM) software or stand alone as a comprehensive solution. We integrate seamlessly with technology to deliver the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness in legal bill review. Yet, where software ends, our human touch takes over—through careful appeals processes and collaborative engagement with outside counsel that software alone cannot replicate. Job description

This is a remote position.

Director of Law Firm Relations

Full-Time • Remote

About the Role

At LegalBillReview.com, we sit at a unique intersection: between the companies paying legal bills and the firms sending them. The Director of Law Firm Relations is the person who owns that relationship — and keeps it running smoothly even when things get complicated.

This is a high-impact role for a former AmLaw or BigLaw attorney who knows the law firm world from the inside. You understand how firms operate, how billing decisions get made, and how to navigate difficult conversations while keeping everyone at the table. You’re not here to play referee — you’re here to drive resolution.

You’ll report directly to our VP of Law Firm Relations and serve as a key external face of a fast-growing company that is reshaping how corporate legal spend gets managed.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for law firms navigating billing discrepancies with our clients — moving fast, meeting tight deadlines, and driving resolution with short turnaround times

  • Own a high-volume mix of email, phone, and video communications with both law firms and our corporate clients to work through open billing issues and align on billing procedures

  • Represent LegalBillReview.com in internal strategy meetings focused on improving processes that affect law firms, clients, and our team

  • Hold the dual mandate that defines this role: protect our clients’ interests and preserve the law firm relationships they depend on — simultaneously

  • Review detailed billing analyses, craft precise responses to law firms, and make sharp revisions under pressure

What You Bring

  • 5–10 years of experience at a large law firm, preferably AmLaw 100 or 200 firm — you know the culture, the politics, and the billing dynamics from the inside

  • A strong command of legal terminology, billing practices, and a realistic sense of how long legal work actually takes

  • Comfort analyzing large volumes of billing data and producing clear, well-reasoned written responses and revisions

  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive matters without dropping the ball

  • A commitment to the highest standards of compliant and ethical billing — non-negotiable

  • Sophisticated interpersonal skills — you’re persuasive, tactful, and know how to de-escalate without backing down

  • Excellent conflict resolution instincts; you stay sharp and composed in high-pressure situations

  • Polished, concise writing that can make a complex billing argument feel clear and credible

  • Full accountability for your results — you own your outcomes, good or bad, and act accordingly
