Sole Hire, LLC is seeking a dedicated and student-focused Student Services Advisor to support a career college in Maumee, OH. This institution offers hands-on technical and healthcare career training programs, and this role is centered on student support, engagement, and retention — serving as a key point of contact for learners throughout their educational journey. We are open to interviewing candidates with transferable skills but would prefer someone with direct experience in student services. Candidates must be able to commute to Maumee, OH, Monday through Friday. This is a full-time, direct-hire position.
Position Overview
The Student Services Advisor provides guidance, support, and advocacy for students from enrollment through program completion. This role focuses on helping students navigate academic processes, overcome challenges, and stay engaged and on track toward graduation.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as a primary point of contact for students, providing guidance and support throughout their program
• Respond to student inquiries related to course access, scheduling, policies, and general program navigation
• Monitor student attendance, engagement, and academic progress, and conduct proactive outreach when concerns arise
• Support student retention by identifying barriers to success and connecting students with appropriate resources
• Maintain accurate and timely student records, notes, and communications in internal systems
• Collaborate with academic, admissions, and career services teams to ensure a seamless student experience
• Assist with orientation, onboarding, and student success initiatives
• Uphold institutional policies and ensure compliance with documentation and reporting requirements
• Provide a supportive, professional, and inclusive student experience
Requirements
• Experience in student services, advising, customer support, education support, or similar student-facing roles
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially in person and over the phone
• Ability to manage multiple student caseloads and prioritize effectively
• Empathy-driven, student-first mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Comfort using Microsoft Office and student information or CRM systems
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Interest in education or workforce development preferred
