Job Title: Plumbing Estimator (Junior)
Job Type: Full-time, Remote
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, US Eastern Time (EST/EDT)
Salary: USD $1,500–$2,000/month (based on experience)

About the Role

We're looking for a Junior Plumbing Estimator to join a growing U.S.-based commercial plumbing contractor specializing in new construction projects. This role is ideal for someone with commercial plumbing estimating experience who enjoys working on complex, multi-story projects and wants to grow alongside a rapidly expanding company.

You'll work closely with the owner and senior estimator to prepare accurate estimates, manage bid documentation, coordinate with vendors, and support the estimating process from bid preparation through project award. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with a small, highly experienced team.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare accurate plumbing estimates and quantity takeoffs for commercial and industrial construction projects

  • Review architectural, plumbing, and mechanical drawings, specifications, and bid documents

  • Develop complete bid packages and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for pricing

  • Prepare and manage change orders, estimate revisions, and RFI responses

  • Analyze project scope and identify discrepancies or missing information requiring clarification

  • Coordinate estimates for mixed-use developments including residential, hospitality, retail, warehouse, and industrial spaces

  • Ensure estimates comply with project specifications, plumbing codes, ADA requirements, and client standards

  • Assist with project submittals and estimating documentation as needed

  • Collaborate with the senior estimator and owner on complex bids and pricing strategies

  • Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting strict bid deadlines

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of commercial plumbing estimating experience

  • Experience with New Jersey, New York, or Northeast U.S. plumbing codes

  • Civil Engineering degree or equivalent plumbing trade qualification preferred

  • Experience estimating commercial, industrial, or multi-family construction projects

  • Strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and construction methods

  • Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills

  • Comfortable working full-time during US Eastern Time business hours

Required Software & Technical Skills

  • PlanSwift (preferred)

  • Procore

  • Microsoft Excel

  • PDF markup and construction drawing review tools

  • Experience with digital takeoff and estimating software

Nice to Have

  • BIM (Building Information Modeling) experience

  • Experience estimating mixed-use developments

  • Experience handling RFIs independently

  • Familiarity with ADA compliance requirements

  • Experience coordinating with multiple construction trades
