Job description

RYZ Labs is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join one of our client’s teams, a performance advertising company!
You'll ship features into a live PHP monolith that runs a performance advertising business, and you'll help design the services they break out of it. The work starts in the monolith, because that's where the business runs today — and the decisions you make there are what the next architecture gets built on.

Basic Qualifications:
• 7+ years building and operating production web applications
• Deep PHP experience in a long-lived, server-rendered application you were responsible for
• You've shipped and operated an integration against a major ad platform's API — Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, or Google/YouTube. We mean the real thing: rate limits and backoff, token rotation, async report jobs, version deprecations, backfilling after an outage
• You can talk credibly about normalizing data across more than one ad platform — where the object models refuse to line up, why the same campaign reports different numbers in two places, and how you decide which one billing gets to believe
• Strong vanilla JavaScript, and comfort in a modern component framework — you'll be introducing one, not inheriting one
• You've owned a system where a bad change costs real money, and you can talk about blast radius, rollback, and how you verify a data change before you run it
• Self-directed across time zones, and clear in writing

What makes you stand out:
• Production Go
• Background job and queue systems — retries, idempotency, work that survives a reboot
• An understanding of how commercial media-buying automation platforms are built. You don't need to have built one. We want someone who can reason about how those systems work and what's worth building versus buying
• Dense operational UI — data grids, bulk actions, review queues, spreadsheet export. This is what our ad ops team stares at all day
• Docker and twelve-factor instincts
• Shipping AI-backed features, not just using AI to write code — evaluating model output, precision versus recall, and what a false positive costs when a human is downstream

Key Responsibilities:
Ad Platform Integration: This is the heart of the role. They are deep in the Meta Marketing API — campaign and creative objects, insights and spend, audience exclusions, duplicate-ad detection, and the policy surfaces that tell them when an ad is in trouble — and they are bringing TikTok, Snapchat, and YouTube online now. Four platforms means four object models, four sets of rate limits, four
ideas of what a conversion window is, and one internal model that has to make sense of all of them. Designing that abstraction well is the highest-leverage thing anyone there can do this year.
Compliance and Creative Review: The products their ad ops team runs on: AI-assisted creative checking, rescanning live ads for compliance drift, flagging unsubstantiated claims and unlicensed likeness or music, and the human review queues wrapped around all of it.
Revenue Systems: Billing rules, referral commission logic based on advertiser spend, and reconciling what the platforms report against what they recorded. Spend numbers move after the fact. If you already know why that matters for billing, we should talk.
Making Shipping Safe: Meet their new deployment pipeline halfway from the application side: a migration system so no schema change reaches production by hand, tests where a bug costs them money, and making the app stateless so they can eventually run more than one of it. Their DevOps engineer owns the infrastructure. You own whether the code is safe to ship through it.
