Supports the team's project objectives and troubleshoots client issues as they arise. Demonstrates strong software engineering practices with an established understanding of relevant technical concepts and architectural design, applying knowledge and skills independently to complete a wide range of tasks within their professional discipline.


 

Essential Functions

  • Contribute technical guidance within the team to support efficient delivery of features and promote high performance.
  • Actively participate in team process improvement and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Advise the team on selecting appropriate technology choices, considering scalability, maintainability, performance, and integration capabilities.
  • Contribute to defining the team's code standards and development processes.
  • Proactively interact with internal and external clients to help clarify project requirements.
  • Bring knowledge of industry best practices to ensure proposed ideas align with current technology and software design principles.
  • Help the team make informed architectural decisions by providing insights into trade-offs of different solutions.
  • Design services and components using well-accepted design patterns to support iterative, independent development.
  • Anticipate near-term use cases and make design decisions that reduce the cost of future changes.
  • Review stories and tasks critically to ensure they're appropriately broken down, prioritized, and understood by the team.
  • Anticipate and communicate blockers, delays, or scope changes within team projects before they require escalation.
  • Help clarify expectations between the team and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to release plans in collaboration with related teams.
  • Collaborate with related teams and support go-live activities to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Analyze product adoption within own area and propose solutions to address enhancement requests.
  • Set an example in coding, documentation, and code review practices; create learning opportunities within the team to reduce hygiene issues in feature development.
  • Provide guidance on managing dependencies within the team, promoting consistent practices and version control.
  • Align team-level hygiene initiatives with broader goals and contribute to sustainable best practices.
  • Identify proof-of-concepts to demonstrate key functionality or validate technical approaches.
  • Demonstrate strong software engineering practices, with an established understanding of technical concepts and architectural design relevant to own professional discipline.
  • Stay informed of emerging industry and technology trends relevant to own discipline and share insights that inform team-level technical decisions.
  • Mentor less experienced developers.
  • Leverage AI tools and techniques to enhance development activities, including code generation, testing, debugging, and optimization.
  • Apply AI insights to identify patterns, automate repetitive tasks, and improve development efficiency and quality within the team.
  • Evaluate AI/ML capabilities where relevant to strengthen product functionality and user experience.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging AI trends and best practices to inform continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field with 5+ years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge in one or more programming languages and experience with relevant technology stacks.
  • Strong knowledge of web application development.
  • Ability to design and implement application components using proven industry patterns and best practices.
  • Strong problem solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and effectively collaborating with team members.

Desired

  • Proficient knowledge of Python, Django Framework and Vue.
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM and TDD development methodologies.
