We are growing our U.S. Industrial Sector team and seeking a Senior Client Manager with experience serving industrial manufacturing companies and delivering innovative water solutions. This role is ideal for a business development professional who thrives in client-facing environments and is excited to help shape our growth in this market.

 

As a Senior Client Manager, you will lead strategic business development efforts with industrial clients, helping them solve complex water, wastewater, reuse, sustainability, and environmental challenges. You will build executive-level relationships, identify opportunities, guide account strategies, and collaborate with technical teams to deliver solutions that create measurable value.

 

This is a highly visible opportunity to influence market strategy, expand key client relationships, and contribute directly to the growth of our Industrial Sector across North America.

 

About the Role

Our Senior Client Managers serve as trusted advisors and are central to our client development strategy.

 

The successful candidate will be externally focused, highly curious about client needs, and passionate about helping industrial manufacturers solve complex water challenges. They will partner with client decision-makers to understand business objectives, operational priorities, sustainability goals, and water-related challenges while collaborating internally to develop and deliver integrated solutions.

 

This individual will build strategic client relationships, identify growth opportunities, and leverage the full breadth of the firm's technical expertise to strengthen partnerships and expand services. Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to generate opportunities that drive long-term clients and business growth.

 

Success in this role will be measured by:

What Will You Be Doing at Woodard & Curran?

As a Senior Client Manager, you will identify client needs and connect them with innovative solutions that deliver measurable value.

 

Working with large and complex industrial organizations, you will address water, wastewater, reuse, sustainability, and environmental challenges through a consultative, solutions-oriented approach. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing leaders, operations teams, environmental managers, engineering groups, capital planning teams, and executive stakeholders while serving as a trusted advisor and driving account growth.

 

Preferred Locations: | Midwest | Southeast | Northeast


Travel: Approximately 40–60% to support client engagement, business development activities, industry conferences, account planning, and team collaboration.


Additional Responsibilities Include:
  • Become a key member of our Industrial Sector growth team, helping achieve annual sales goals of $5M–$10M.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for industrial manufacturing clients.
  • Expand client relationships by introducing the full suite of Woodard & Curran services.
  • Build relationships with executive leaders, plant managers, operations teams, engineering groups, EHS professionals, sustainability leaders, and procurement stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor while identifying opportunities to improve operational performance, water management, regulatory compliance, and sustainability outcomes.
  • Lead proposal development, presentations, pursuit strategies, and contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Technical Practice Leaders, project managers, and technical experts to develop integrated client solutions.
  • Identify and qualify opportunities early to position teams for success.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurately forecast opportunities.
  • Represent Woodard & Curran at conferences, trade events, and industry workshops.
  • Mentor junior client management and business development professionals.
  • Contribute to Industrial Sector growth strategies and future market direction.

What You Need to Succeed:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in business development, account management, consulting, engineering, or related professional services supporting industrial clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Demonstrated success developing and growing relationships within industrial manufacturing organizations.
  • Experience selling services related to industrial water treatment, wastewater management, water reuse, environmental compliance, sustainability, engineering consulting, treatment operations, or capital project delivery.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders across all levels of client organizations, from executive leadership to plant operations teams.
  • Strong understanding of business development, account growth, proposal development, and contract negotiation.
  • Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated success leading and winning complex pursuits.
  • Passion for helping industrial clients solve operational and environmental challenges.

Preferred Experience
  • Existing relationships within industrial manufacturing markets such as semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, medical device & biomanufacturing, and additive manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of industrial water, wastewater, reuse, sustainability, ESG, environmental compliance, and resiliency initiatives.
  • Experience working within an engineering, environmental consulting, technology, or industrial services organization.
