Network Manager II

Location: India, Remote 
Department: Information Technology Infrastructure
Reports To: Director, Infrastructure & Operations

Position Overview

Quest Software is seeking an experienced Network Manager II to lead a geographically dispersed team of network engineers responsible for the design, delivery, security, and operational support of Quest's global network infrastructure. This role has ownership of enterprise networking services supporting corporate offices, global data centers, cloud environments, and business-critical connectivity.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technology leader with deep expertise in enterprise networking, network security, cloud connectivity, and data center infrastructure. They will be responsible for driving network strategy, ensuring operational excellence, developing team members, and delivering highly available and secure networking solutions that support Quest's worldwide operations.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a geographically distributed team of network engineers located across multiple regions.
  • Establish team goals, performance objectives, and professional development plans.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer service excellence.
  • Manage staffing, resource allocation, workload prioritization, and succession planning.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and career development discussions.

 

Network Operations & Engineering

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of Quest's global network infrastructure supporting data centers, cloud environments, and office locations worldwide.
  • Ensure network availability, performance, scalability, and security through proactive monitoring and operational excellence.
  • Lead infrastructure lifecycle management including hardware refreshes, software upgrades, and architecture modernization initiatives.
  • Manage incident response, root cause analysis, problem management, and service restoration activities.
  • Establish operational standards, documentation, and best practices.

 

Network Architecture & Connectivity

  • Direct the design and implementation of enterprise networking solutions utilizing Cisco routing and switching technologies.
  • Lead WAN, SD-WAN, MPLS, internet, and hybrid connectivity initiatives supporting global locations.
  • Oversee enterprise office networking including LAN, wireless, and remote access solutions.
  • Develop and maintain highly available and resilient network architectures.

Security & Compliance

  • Manage perimeter and internal network security infrastructure including Fortinet firewalls and related security platforms.
  • Partner with Security Operations and Enterprise Security teams to implement network segmentation, zero-trust initiatives, and security controls.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate security standards, audit requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Lead vulnerability remediation efforts related to network infrastructure.

Cloud Networking

  • Support and guide cloud networking initiatives across Microsoft Azure and AWS environments.
  • Design and maintain hybrid networking solutions including:
    • Azure ExpressRoute
    • Azure Virtual WAN
    • AWS Direct Connect
    • Site-to-Site VPN Connectivity
  • Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to ensure secure and reliable cloud connectivity.

Data Center Infrastructure

  • Manage network infrastructure supporting Quest's global data centers and colocation facilities.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery connectivity between data centers and cloud environments.
  • Lead data center migration, expansion, and modernization projects.
  • Support production workloads and mission-critical business applications through resilient network architecture.

Vendor & Financial Management

  • Manage relationships with network service providers, telecommunications carriers, and hardware vendors.
  • Participate in contract negotiations, renewals, and vendor performance reviews.
  • Develop and manage network infrastructure budgets and capital planning activities.
  • Identify operational efficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience

  • 5+ years of people management experience leading network engineering and operations teams.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Experience managing geographically dispersed technical teams.
  • Experience supporting global enterprise environments with multiple office and data center locations.

  • Advanced experience with:
    • Cisco Routing and Switching
    • Cisco Catalyst Platforms
    • Cisco Nexus Platforms
    • BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
    • VLANs, STP, QoS
    • Enterprise Office Networking

Security

  • Hands-on experience managing:
    • Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls
    • Network Security Architecture
    • VPN Technologies
    • Network Segmentation
    • Secure Remote Access Solutions

WAN & Connectivity

  • Strong experience with:
    • Wide Area Networks (WAN)
    • SD-WAN
    • Internet Service Providers
    • Global Connectivity Solutions

Cloud Networking

  • Experience designing and supporting:
    • Microsoft Azure Networking
    • AWS Networking
    • Hybrid Cloud Connectivity
    • ExpressRoute
    • Direct Connect
    • VPN Connectivity

Data Centers

  • Experience supporting:
    • Enterprise Data Center Infrastructure
    • High Availability Architectures
    • Disaster Recovery Connectivity
    • Data Center Migration Projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCNP Enterprise, CCIE, or equivalent Cisco certification.
  • Fortinet NSE Certification.
  • Experience supporting global organizations with 24x7 operations.
  • Experience with network monitoring and observability platforms.
  • Experience leading infrastructure transformation and modernization initiatives.
