Job description

Overview:

This role can be performed from the following locations: UK, Ireland, Spain.

 

The Digital Commerce Manager is accountable for the commercial performance, growth, customer experience, and operational management of the direct-to-consumer (DTC) ecommerce business. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, owning the performance of digital commerce channels while ensuring day-to-day excellence across merchandising, content, customer experience, reporting, platform development, and operational processes.

 

Reporting to the VP Revenue, the Digital Commerce Manager will lead the development and execution of digital commerce strategies that deliver revenue growth, profitability, conversion improvement, and exceptional customer experiences. The role serves as the primary owner of ecommerce business performance, acting as the connective point between eCommerce, and internal and external partners to drive digital commerce initiatives.

 

The successful candidate will be equally comfortable developing long-term growth strategies, presenting business performance to senior leadership, and rolling up their sleeves to execute tactical and operational ecommerce activities.

  • Own and drive the overall performance of the ecommerce business, including day-to-day execution of key operational activities, to deliver revenue, profit, conversion, customer experience, and growth objectives.
  • Develop and execute annual, quarterly, and monthly ecommerce growth plans aligned to company objectives.
  • Partner closely with Finance and VP of Revenue to develop sales forecasts, budgets, business plans, P&L reviews, identifying actions to improve margins, efficiency, and overall profitability.
  • Analyse sales performance, customer behaviour, traffic trends, conversion metrics, and profitability to identify growth opportunities and risks.
  • Lead regular business performance reviews, translating data into actionable recommendations and strategic initiatives.
  • Establish, standardize, and continuously improve ecommerce performance dashboards, reporting frameworks, KPI methodologies, and business metrics to provide a consistent view of performance across brands, regions, and channels.
  • Build business cases for new initiatives, technology investments, and customer experience improvements.
  • Ownership of the ecommerce platform roadmap and digital commerce capabilities, translating business needs into prioritised enhancements and partnering with internal and external technology teams to deliver, test, deploy, and optimise platform improvements that support revenue growth, customer experience, operational efficiency, website performance, stability, and functionality.
  • Own the digital customer journey and continuously improve the online shopping experience.
  • Leverage customer insights, analytics, and behavioural data to identify friction points and growth opportunities throughout the purchase funnel.
  • Lead Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) initiatives through testing, experimentation, and customer journey improvements.
  • Lead, coach, and support the development of the eCommerce Team to achieve business objectives, while acting as a role model for company values and leadership behaviours.
  • Drive a high-performance culture focused on accountability, innovation, customer experience, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and allocate the lower funnel marketing budget across key performance channels, while partnering with Digital Marketing team for tactical execution.
  • Oversee the management of the EDM platform to deliver high-converting lower-funnel lifecycle campaigns, automated flows, and compliant database segmentation.
  • Act as the primary ecommerce business partner across Digital Marketing, Finance, Product, Demand, Supply, Customer Service, IT, and external vendors.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives designed to improve revenue growth, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Influence and align internal and external stakeholders around digital commerce priorities and strategic objectives.
  • Drive collaboration between local and global teams to ensure successful execution of ecommerce initiatives.
  • Other responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Ecommerce, Digital Commerce, Analytics, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional qualifications in ecommerce, digital marketing, analytics, or project management are also advantageous.
  • 8+ years of experience driving commercial performance within ecommerce or digital commerce environments, with a proven ability to develop and execute strategies that deliver revenue growth, profitability and exceptional customer experience.
  • 5+ years of experience leading coaching and developing high performing teams, including setting clear priorities, objectives, and performance expectations to deliver business outcomes.
  • Exceptional ecommerce analytics, reporting, and performance measurement skills, with the ability to translate data across traffic, conversion improvement, revenue, profitability, customer behaviour, and operational metrics into actionable business recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leaders
  • Proven experience leading complex projects, change initiatives, and process improvements that deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success managing ecommerce revenue, growth, and customer experience initiatives.
  • Experience owning or contributing to ecommerce P&L management and budget planning.
  • Strong experience within DTC ecommerce environments, ideally using Shopify or similar enterprise ecommerce platforms.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex digital projects.
  • Proven track record delivering measurable improvements in revenue, conversion, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
