Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to provide daily administrative and clerical support to a busy law practice. The ideal candidate has prior experience supporting lawyers or legal teams, demonstrates exceptional communication skills, and excels in a fast-paced environment. Experience working in an Australian law firm or familiarity with Australian legal processes is a strong advantage.




Requirements

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the legal team, including scheduling, document preparation, and file organization.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, client communications, and formal letters.
  • Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents such as engagement letters, briefs, forms, and filings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date digital filing systems and ensure proper document version control.
  • Assist with matter management, including opening new matters, updating case information, and tracking deadlines.
  • Coordinate with clients to arrange meetings, gather required documents, and ensure efficient communication flow.
  • Perform basic legal research tasks and data entry as needed.
  • Support billing processes, including time entry, invoice preparation, and payment follow-up.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required to support smooth legal operations.




Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a legal administrative, legal assistant, or administrative support role.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology, legal document formats, and general law office processes.
  • Experience supporting Australian law firms or familiarity with Australian legal procedures is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and document-management platforms; experience with legal practice management software is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
