Your role at St John of God Health Care

Join a values-driven healthcare organisation dedicated to delivering exceptional care and service. We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Accounts Receivable Officer to provide efficient billing, receivables, and account management services while supporting the organisation's mission and commitment to excellence.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of billing and receivables processes, ensuring all charges are raised correctly and payments are processed efficiently. You will work closely with internal teams, including Health Funding, medical and nursing staff, as well as external stakeholders, to ensure documentation is complete and accounts are managed effectively.

The position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 38 hours per week.

The Position:

  • Manage billing and receivables to ensure accurate, timely charging, invoicing and account reconciliation.

  • Process payments, banking, refunds, credit notes and journals in line with organisational policies and procedures.

  • Liaise with patients, health funds, hospital staff and external stakeholders to resolve queries and maximise revenue.

  • Monitor outstanding accounts, follow up arrears and support debt collection processes where required.

  • Contribute to process improvements, audits and service excellence while maintaining compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

You will bring proven experience in accounts receivable and administration, together with strong communication and interpersonal skills. You are confident liaising with patients, external stakeholders and staff at all levels, providing professional and customer-focused service while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

A highly organised and adaptable team player, you have excellent computer skills and the ability to prioritise competing tasks in a fast-paced environment. Committed to continuous improvement, you take pride in delivering high-quality work, identifying process efficiencies and contributing positively to team outcomes.

  • Salary: $71,352 to $77,022 per annum plus 12% superannuation
