Purpose of Role: Join Weir at an exciting time in our growth journey. Reporting to the CFO, the Head of Investor Relations will shape how Weir is understood by investors, analysts and the wider capital markets community. You will lead our investor relations strategy, bringing our purpose, performance and long-term value creation story to life while positioning Weir as a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future.

Working closely with the CFO, CEO and Executive Leadership Team, you will deliver clear, compelling and compliant communications that build confidence in Weir's strategy, financial performance, technology leadership and sustainability ambitions. As a trusted advisor to senior leaders and the Board, you will provide insight into investor sentiment, market expectations and industry trends, helping to strengthen Weir's reputation and relationships across the investment community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investor Relations Strategy & Value Creation: Lead and execute Weir’s investor relations strategy, ensuring our equity story clearly articulates long-term value creation, financial performance, capital allocation priorities and strategic ambitions. Align all investor engagement with the We are Weir strategy and growth agenda.
  • Capital Markets Communications & Storytelling: Develop compelling and consistent communications that bring Weir’s purpose, investment case, technology leadership and sustainability impact to life. Translate complex financial, operational and strategic information into clear, investor-relevant messaging that strengthens market understanding and confidence.
  • Investor & Analyst Engagement: Serve as Weir’s primary relationship lead across the investment community, fostering trusted relationships with institutional investors, sell-side analysts, proxy advisers and other key stakeholders. Lead the annual engagement program, including results announcements, roadshows, conferences, investor events and shareholder meetings.
  • Executive Advisory & Market Insight: Act as a trusted adviser to the Board, CEO, CFO and Executive Leadership Team by providing insight into investor sentiment, analyst perspectives, market trends, competitive positioning and shareholder priorities. Help leadership anticipate market reactions and strengthen engagement with the capital markets community.
  • Governance, Disclosure & Regulatory Excellence: Ensure all external financial communications meet the highest standards of accuracy, transparency and compliance with UK listing and disclosure requirements. Maintain strong governance across market disclosures, investor targeting, consensus management and shareholder feedback processes.
  • Investor Relations Leadership & Continuous Improvement: Build a high-performing, insight-led investor relations function that delivers exceptional support to the business and investment community. Strengthen processes, tools and external partnerships while championing Weir’s values and fostering a culture of professionalism, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, Treasury, or an MBA are advantageous.
  • Significant experience in Investor Relations, Equity Research, Corporate Finance, Capital Markets, Strategy, or Financial Communications, ideally within a publicly listed company environment.
  • Solid understanding of public company reporting, governance, regulatory disclosure requirements, and shareholder engagement.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with investors, analysts, executive leadership teams, boards, and external advisors.
  • Advanced financial acumen with the ability to interpret financial performance, valuation drivers, market trends, and investor expectations.
  • Experience developing investor-facing communications, including earnings materials, presentations, executive briefings, and market announcements.
  • Experience within industrial, engineering, mining, technology, or sustainability-focused sectors is advantageous.

  • Collaborative and relationship-focused, with the ability to work effectively across functions and build strong partnerships across the organization.
