Job description

Overview:

Position Summary

The Manager, Workforce Strategy & Planning serves as the enterprise integrator for workforce strategy, connecting client demand, workforce supply, operational readiness, and business strategy into one coordinated operating model that enables successful execution at scale.

Reporting into Operations, this role serves as the central coordination point across Operations, Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, Finance, and executive leadership to ensure workforce strategy, hiring, training, staffing, and client demand remain synchronized throughout the workforce lifecycle.

This role sits at the intersection of client demand, workforce supply, operational execution, and business strategy. Success requires balancing competing priorities, influencing cross-functional leaders, and ensuring every workforce decision supports both client commitments and business objectives.

More than a workforce planner, you will serve as the operational quarterback for the business, connecting people, processes, data, and decisions across multiple functions to ensure the right talent is available at the right time, with the right skills, to meet evolving client needs. You will anticipate workforce risks before they impact operations, guide executive decision-making through data-driven insights, and orchestrate the many moving parts required to successfully support a large, seasonal workforce.

Because this is a newly established capability, you will have the unique opportunity to build JDA's enterprise workforce planning function from the ground up. You will design forecasting methodologies, governance, operating rhythms, executive reporting, dashboards, and planning frameworks that become the foundation for how the organization plans, deploys, and optimizes its workforce.

This role also serves as JDA's strategic workforce planning advisor to enterprise clients, translating evolving workforce demand into executable staffing strategies while providing proactive insights, scenario planning, and recommendations that support operational success.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable presenting workforce scenarios to executive leadership, advising enterprise clients, analyzing complex data, and bringing together cross-functional teams to solve operational challenges. If you enjoy building new capabilities, influencing strategy, and turning workforce complexity into competitive advantage, this role is for you.

What You Will Do:

Why You'll Love This Role

  • Build a new enterprise capability from the ground up.
  • Partner directly with executive leadership and enterprise clients to shape workforce strategy.
  • Influence decisions that impact growth, operational readiness, client success, and financial performance.
  • Work across Operations, Finance, Talent Acquisition, and HR.
  • Lead through influence, not authority, by aligning stakeholders around common business objectives.
  • Create a scalable workforce planning model that will support future growth.

You'll Own Enterprise Workforce Strategy

  • Develop enterprise workforce strategies aligned with business growth, client demand, and operational priorities.
  • Translate client forecasts into executable workforce plans.
  • Build workforce scenarios and identify workforce risks before they affect operations.
  • Design workforce planning governance, planning processes, and operating rhythms.

Client Workforce Partnership

  • Serve as JDA's strategic workforce planning advisor to enterprise clients.
  • Lead recurring client workforce planning meetings.
  • Provide proactive workforce insights, scenario planning, and recommendations.

Enterprise Workforce Orchestration

  • Serve as the operational quarterback across Operations, Talent Acquisition, HR, Finance, and executive leadership.
  • Ensure recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, and workforce deployment remain synchronized.
  • Build alignment and drive execution through influence rather than direct authority.

Workforce Supply Strategy

  • Translate workforce demand into hiring priorities.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to execute hiring strategies.
  • Monitor hiring progress, onboarding, readiness, attrition, and workforce availability.

Workforce Intelligence & Analytics

  • Develop executive dashboards and workforce KPIs.
  • Analyze productivity, utilization, capacity, and operational performance.
  • Deliver forecasting, scenario modeling, and executive recommendations.

Enterprise Business Partnership

  • Partner with Operations, Finance, HR, and executive leadership on workforce investments and planning.
  • Support budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Present workforce insights to executive leadership and enterprise clients.

Future of Work & Workforce Transformation

  • Evaluate the impact of AI and automation on workforce strategy.
  • Recommend workforce redesign strategies and identify future skill requirements.

Success Measures

  • Accurate workforce forecasts that enable successful client delivery.
  • Workforce capacity aligned with changing demand.
  • Hiring plans delivered on schedule.
  • Improved workforce productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Executive adoption of workforce planning insights.
  • Successful establishment of an enterprise workforce planning capability.
