JOB SUMMARY

A Software Engineer, Manager is a hands-on technical leader responsible for overseeing the development of end-to-end software solutions. This role combines people leadership with technical delivery, ensuring that high-quality, scalable applications are designed, built, and maintained across the entire technology stack. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong engineering expertise, drives process improvements, and inspires a team of developers to excel in both technical execution and collaboration. 

Position Location - This role is available in Taiwan. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Lead a cross-functional development team through all stages of software delivery 

• Oversee the design and implementation of scalable, performant, and user-friendly software applications 

• Provide technical leadership across frontend and backend technologies, architecture, and design decisions 

• Drive the adoption of AI-powered tools and workflows across engineering teams by identifying high-impact automation opportunities, partnering with stakeholders to implement practical use cases, and tracking measurable improvements in productivity and quality 

• Contribute to and review code, ensuring quality, maintainability, and adherence to standards 

• Manage team workload, define sprint priorities, and coordinate delivery timelines 

• Support team members with coaching, feedback, and career development 

• Facilitate cross-team collaboration with QA, DevOps, Design, and Product Management 

• Champion software development best practices and continuous improvement initiatives 

• Drive innovation, technical experimentation, and adoption of new tools or frameworks 

• Monitor team performance metrics and report progress and risks to leadership 

• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and team structure planning. 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

Experience and skills: 

• 8+ years of professional software development experience across various layers of the stack 

• 3+ years of management or team leadership experience in a software development role 

• Proven ability to lead development teams and manage project execution in agile environments 

• Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue) and backend technologies (Java, C# in .NET, Node.js, etc.) 

• Proficiency with databases (relational and NoSQL), API design, and system integration 

• Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) 

• Strong knowledge of AI capabilities with experience applying them in engineering workflows to drive tooling adoption, identify automation opportunities, and measure productivity/quality gains. 

• Experience in delivering secure, scalable, and maintainable enterprise-grade applications 

• Proficiency in written and spoken English 

Highly Valued Skills: 

• Experience managing distributed or remote engineering teams 

• Knowledge of modern UX/UI principles and responsive design 

• Expertise in performance optimization and application monitoring 

• Exposure to multi-cloud deployments or hybrid infrastructure models 

Soft Skills: 

• Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities 

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills 

• Strategic thinker with a problem-solving mindset and attention to detail 

• Passionate about building high-impact products and fostering a strong engineering culture 

• Ability to collaborate effectively in agile and cross-functional environments to achieve common goals.  

• Proactive learning new technologies, industry trends, and adapting to evolving tools and methodologies. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION 

• Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. 

• Advanced certifications or a Master’s degree are a plus. 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT 

• Candidates must currently reside in and be legally authorized to work in Taiwan. Sponsorship, relocation assistance, and reimbursement of interview-related travel expenses are not available for this position. 

• Successful candidates will be required to provide documentation verifying their authorization to work in Taiwan.
