About the Role

We are looking for an IBM i / WebSmart Developer to support and extend business-critical applications running on their IBM i environment. This role will maintain existing IBM i applications while working in WebSmart to deliver modern, web-based interfaces on top of legacy systems. You'll work closely with internal IT and business stakeholders to keep core systems reliable while pushing them toward a more modern footprint.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing applications on IBM i (AS/400)
  • Design and build web-based interfaces and applications using WebSmart
  • Support integration between legacy IBM i systems and modern web front-ends
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues
  • Collaborate with business and IT teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Participate in occasional onsite visits/travel as needed for project or team work

Required Experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM i systems
  • Experience with WebSmart for web application development
  • RPG/RPGLE and CL programming experience
  • Experience with DB2 for i
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in a production support environment
    (helpful but not required)
  • Experience in environmental services, waste management, or a similarly regulated industry
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Additional Information
  • Location: Remote, USA. Occasional travel might be required.
  • Employment Type/Duration: 6-12 month contract. Possibility of renewals depending on business needs and personal performance. 
  • Compensation: $45 - $60 W2 or $55 - $70 C2C. Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, and overall qualifications.
  • Requirements: Must be authorized to work legally in the US without sponsorship, now or in the future.
