Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a talented MOT Senior Project Engineer to join our team full-time to support one of the many large transformative transportation projects that we have either won, are currently pursuing, or will pursue across the nation.

Some of the larger projects are located in the states of:

•            Tennessee

•            Georgia

•            North Carolina

•            Virginia

•            Indiana

In this role, you will help deliver the design for projects that have a construction value greater than $1 billion, and in turn assist in enhancing the mobility, safety, and reliability for communities who live along and travel through these critical corridors.

This position is remote, and the selected candidate will have flexibility in work location while still supporting virtual collaboration with Parsons teams.

Parsons is one of the premier design-build firms in the country with over 16,000 employees worldwide and nearly $7 Billion in revenue. Most recently, we have been the engineer of record or have assisted on some of the most challenging projects in the country, including:

•            the Gordie Howe Bridge near Detroit, MI

•            the Clear Path projects in Indianapolis, IN

•            Brent Spence project in Cincinnati, OH

•            the SR 400 project in Atlanta, GA

These high visibility Design-Build and Public Private Partnership "P3" projects and many others are career defining opportunities and offer complex, challenging work for our entire professional staff and new hires, who work seamlessly together from offices across the country.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead MOT design on large and complex transportation projects, serving as the primary MOT discipline lead for assigned projects
  • Manage MOT design teams, including task assignment, oversight, and coordination across multiple offices and disciplines
  • Develop comprehensive MOT strategies and staging concepts for freeway, interchange, and major bridge projects
  • Oversee work zone traffic analyses and ensure that operational performance and safety objectives are met
  • Work closely with project managers to align MOT scope, schedule, and budget with overall project goals
  • Lead coordination with contractors, clients, and third-party stakeholders to address MOT design, phasing, and implementation issues
  • Support major pursuits by leading MOT sections of proposals, interviews, and alternative technical concept development
  • Provide high-level technical guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback to MOT staff

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • 12-15+ years of experience in transportation engineering with substantial experience leading MOT design on major projects
  • Proven ability to manage MOT design tasks and teams on complex, multi-disciplinary projects
  • In-depth knowledge of MUTCD and state DOT work zone standards and procedures
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, including client-facing experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

  • Experience as overall MOT lead on mega-projects or major design-build/P3 programs
  • Experience leading multi-office or multi-firm MOT teams
  • Experience participating in value engineering, risk workshops, or alternative delivery innovation sessions focused on MOT
  • Demonstrated success in winning work through proposal development and client engagement related to MOT
