Job description

This role is designed for a top-tier broker who will operate at a strategic level, managing complex reinsurance transactions and relationships. Unlike traditional management roles, this position does not involve direct team leadership but focuses on high-level brokerage functions, client relationships, and business development.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Brokerage: Lead the placement and negotiation of large, complex reinsurance programs across various lines of business, ensuring optimal outcomes for our clients.

  • Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, developing and maintaining strong relationships, understanding their needs, and providing tailored reinsurance solutions.

  • Market Relationships: Cultivate and manage relationships with reinsurance markets, ensuring access to competitive and innovative reinsurance solutions.

  • Business Development: Identify new business opportunities within the reinsurance sector, expanding the company’s portfolio and driving growth.

  • Technical Expertise: Provide high-level technical advice and guidance on reinsurance structures, pricing, and risk transfer mechanisms to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Contract Negotiation: Oversee the negotiation of reinsurance contracts, ensuring all terms and conditions are favorable and in line with both client expectations and company standards.

  • Risk Analysis: Analyze risk profiles and advise clients on appropriate reinsurance coverage, working closely with actuarial and underwriting teams.

  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all transactions comply with regulatory requirements and are properly documented, maintaining high standards of accuracy and transparency.
     

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of reinsurance markets, products, and pricing mechanisms.

  • Ability to analyze complex risk data and provide strategic advice.

  • Proficiency in reinsurance contract terms and conditions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in reinsurance brokerage, with a proven track record of managing large and complex accounts.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field. Professional qualifications (e.g., ACII, CPCU) are preferred.

OTHER:

  • Travel may be required
