Job description

Who We Are: Banza reimagines your favorite comfort foods, like pasta, pizza, mac & cheese, and waffles, using chickpeas. Why? Because we know chickpeas aren't just delicious, they're also one of the most nutritious and sustainable foods. Yet 80% of the country isn't eating enough of them. Our mission is to inspire people to eat more chickpeas and other beans, making a positive impact on human health and the environment. We've been named one of TIME Magazine's Best Inventions of the Year, Adweek's Best Food Brand, and are proud to have fans at Good Morning America, The New York Times, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, and more.

Your Mission: We're looking for a Trade & Shopper Marketing Manager to partner with Sales on trade investment planning and promotional effectiveness while owning digital shopper marketing programs from strategy through execution. This role sits at the center of Sales, Finance, and Marketing — shaping promotional recommendations with Sales, partnering with Finance on spend visibility and ROI, and building the reporting that helps the organization make sharper, faster decisions.

What You'll Do:

Trade Strategy & Investment:

  • Provide trade strategy and promotional effectiveness insights by analyzing promotional performance, spend trends, and business results to identify opportunities and inform commercial recommendations.
  • Partner with Sales to develop customer-specific promotional plans, recommending promotional mechanics, investment levels, retailer-specific tactics, and expected financial outcomes to optimize trade spend.
  • Drive trade investment visibility by partnering with Sales and Strategic & Analytics to improve spend classification, tracking, slotting visibility, and pacing against plan through Salesforce and reporting tools.
  • Evaluate promotional ROI and performance learnings, translating insights into recommendations that improve future customer plans and trade investment decisions.
  • Partner with Finance on customer P&Ls, net revenue, and trade investment analysis to support informed business decisions.

Digital Shopper Marketing:

  • Develop the digital shopper marketing strategy and annual program roadmap, defining campaign priorities, investment plans, and success metrics to drive innovation trial, purchase conversion, and business growth.
  • Manage digital shopper marketing activation execution, including campaign planning, offer strategy, audience targeting, timing, spend optimization, and performance tracking in partnership with Marketing, which owns creative and content development.
  • Evaluate retailer loyalty and rewards programs as promotional levers, using effectiveness data to inform investment decisions.

Reporting & Analytics:

  • Leverage Salesforce and Tableau to refresh and enhance existing trade pacing and monthly event reporting, providing visibility into spend performance, budget trends, and upcoming promotional activity.
  • Develop AI-enabled dashboards and automated reporting that deliver commercial insights, streamline analysis, and improve reporting efficiency.

Who You Are:

  • 7+ years of experience in Revenue Growth Management, Trade Strategy, Trade Planning, Shopper Marketing, or Sales Strategy in the CPG industry.
  • Deep understanding of trade spend management and promotional ROI, including mechanics like TPRs, BOGO, multi-buy, digital coupons, and everyday price point strategies, with experience across major grocery, mass, and specialty retailers.
  • Experience managing trade investment and shopper marketing budgets, with hands-on experience executing digital coupon, rebate, rewards, sampling, or review generation programs across platforms such as Ibotta, Fetch, Instacart, PINCHme, Inmar, Neptune, and Hummingbird.
  • Comfortable treating shopper marketing and retail media spend as a trade investment lever, using performance data to determine investment levels across programs and partners (e.g., Target Roundel, Walmart Scintilla, Meijer mPerks).
  • Experience with Circana (IRI), NielsenIQ, retailer POS data, Salesforce, Power BI or Tableau, advanced Excel modeling, and AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini) to analyze data, streamline reporting, and build dashboards.
  • A strategic thinker who can translate complex data and insights into clear recommendations and actionable business decisions.
  • A highly collaborative partner who can build strong relationships across Sales, Finance, Marketing, and external partners to drive alignment and execution.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where priorities evolve, and proactive problem-solving is essential.
