About The Team

Horizons is the largest operating group in the company with a dedicated group of engineers, developers and technical minded individuals accountable for Life360's cloud infrastructure, developer systems, and partner ecosystems.

About the Job

Life360 is used by families in moments that matter: tracking a teenager's first drive, checking in on an aging parent, knowing everyone made it home. The platform that powers those moments has to be bulletproof. We are looking for a seasoned product leader with a strong point of view on how to make that happen.

In this role, you'll own the strategy that keeps Life360’s technical foundation fast, reliable, and observable as we scale to hundreds of millions of users. You’ll set the bar for what a world-class consumer platform looks like, defining the metrics that prove it, and driving alignment across engineering, operations, and leadership to get there. This isn't a support role. You're a force multiplier for every team that ships on our platform, working directly with the VP of Product and senior engineering leadership to build the practices, systems, and knowledge that keep our members’ experiences high quality.

The US-based salary range for this position is $178,500 to $261,500. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary - therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.

What You’ll Do

  • Get ahead of growth, not behind it. Identify where the platform will break before it does, and build the fault tolerance and capacity buffers so it doesn't.
  • Embed quality and reliability into how we build. Establish performance and reliability as first-class product requirements, not afterthoughts.
  • Make the invisible visible. Drive the continued evolution of our observability and telemetry approach so every team has a view into system health and no one ships into the dark.
  • Set the standard. Define company-wide platform KPIs that let product and engineering deliver fast and high quality without second-guessing the foundation beneath them.
  • Hunt systemic risk. Partner with engineering leadership to surface and mitigate the structural risks that constrain growth (location quality, performance, etc.) before they affect the millions of families who depend on us.
  • Translate platform complexity into decisions. Turn platform health data and infrastructure realities into sharp narratives: what's slowing us down, what we need for the next order of magnitude, and where to place the bets now.

Prepare for future scale. Partner with a broad set of company stakeholders to understand user growth needs and establish a forward looking strategy to prepare for scale.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of product management experience, including significant time at a principal or staff level with cross-functional scope
  • Proven track record on platform, infrastructure, or developer-facing problems at a fast-growing consumer technology company, ideally serving hundreds of millions of users
  • Fluency in performance and reliability engineering, as well as observability practices; experience with digital mapping and location services a major plus
  • You’re great with back-end systems, but have enormous empathy not only for internal builders, but consumers and their needs
  • Experience driving alignment across large, matrixed engineering organizations
  • Strong analytical instincts; you use quantitative data and qualitative signal to define what good looks like and hold the bar there
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; you distill complex technical realities into clear business priorities for diverse audiences
  • High ownership and bias for action; you identify the problem and mobilize the right people rather than waiting to be asked
  • Opinionated on the intersection of consumer technology and security, privacy, trust, and compliance

Our Benefits

  • Competitive pay and benefits
  • Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans (100% paid for employees)
  • 401(k) plan with company matching program
  • Mental Wellness Program & Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for mental well-being
  • Flexible PTO, 12 company-wide days off throughout the year
  • Winter and Summer Weeklong Synchronized Company Shutdowns
  • Learning & Development programs
  • Equipment, tools, and reimbursement support for a productive remote environment
  • Free Life360 Platinum Membership for your preferred circle
  • Free Tile Products
