Job Summary:

The Senior Software Engineer (3-6 years’ experience) will design, develop, and integrate Apple CarPlay features within Android-based infotainment platforms. This role focuses on strong individual technical contribution, system-level development, and mentoring junior engineers, while working under architectural guidance from technical leads.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and integrate Apple CarPlay functionality within Android Automotive OS–based infotainment systems. Implement and maintain CarPlay connection lifecycle features including connection, projection, audio playback, Alternate screen support, enhanced siri and error recovery. Implement and enhance Binder / AIDL-based IPC for CarPlay projection services. Develop and maintain state machines and service lifecycle logic for reliable CarPlay operation. Work across Android framework, native components to support CarPlay projection flows. Perform system-level debugging of crashes, ANRs, memory leaks, performance bottlenecks, and boot-time issues. Use debugging and profiling tools such as ADB, logcat, Perfetto, and Android Studio Profiler. Apply JNI and native debugging skills to diagnose and fix cross-layer issues. Support Apple CarPlay certification activities by analyzing validation failures and implementing corrective fixes. Collaborate with QA, certification, and platform teams to ensure CarPlay stability and compliance. Stay informed about updates to CarPlay specifications, iOS compatibility, and Android Automotive platform changes.

Required Skills & Experience:

Programming Skills: Kotlin, Java, C++ Strong experience in Android system-level development (AAOS or AOSP). Solid understanding of Android services, Binder / AIDL, and system service lifecycles. Experience with projection technologies (Apple CarPlay). Proficiency in JNI. Hands-on experience debugging complex Android system issues. Familiarity with Apple CarPlay specifications and certification process is a strong plus. Understanding of Carplay communication plugin Knowledge of FACET testing. Proficiency in ATS log analysis. Strong experience in Audio related Carplay certification test cases.

Preferred skill:

1. Knowledge of Bluetooth, USB, Wifi and other automotive connectivity protocols.
2. Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git or SVN.
3. Experience of minimum 1 complete Carplay certification
