As a Sr. Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering support of multiple profit centers within the Trench Safety Division. You will be dedicated to meeting Trench Safety engineering needs of contractors, industrial and commercial companies, and in doing so, drive profitable engineering revenue for the Division and Company.

What you'll do:

  • Evaluate site conditions and design safe, effective, and structurally-sound shoring systems that promote jobsite efficiency and practicality in the field

  • Provide sealed/stamped site specific plans including trench/excavation shoring design drawings and supporting calculations 

  • Ensure engineering drawings and plans are accurate and meet applicable engineering design standards and Federal State specific OSHA requirements

  • Educate as necessary and provide engineering support to Trench Safety sales representatives in providing quotes to customers

  • Estimate project costs and prepare proposals for customers

  • Obtain and/or maintain current NCEES record for the purpose of securing professional licenses in multiple states

  • Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

  • B. S. in mechanical, structural or civil engineering, or related engineering field and Professional Engineering (PE) designation

  • 5-10 years experience as a licensed engineer in a structural or geotechnical engineering environment

  • Familiarity with AISC ASD or LRFD

  • Knowledge of basic structural engineering analysis and design standards

  • Familiarity with basic soil properties,  testing procedures, and interpretation of geotechnical data

  • Proficient in the OSHA Excavation Standard 1926 Subpart P. and related standards

  • Experience with Autocad, Mathcad, MS Office (Word and Excel)

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Effectively work with customers and sales reps to conceptually plan and negotiate shoring system designs

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

En tant qu'ingénieur senior, vous serez responsable de développer des solutions d'ingénierie sécuritaires et adaptées en ouvrages temporaires pour supporter plusieurs succursales du département d’étançonnement. Vous vous consacrerez à répondre aux besoins d'ingénierie des entrepreneurs en génie civil, des entreprises industrielles et commerciales, en générant des revenus d'ingénierie rentables pour la spécialité d’étançonnement et pour United Rentals.

Ce que vous ferez :

  • Évaluer les conditions des chantiers et concevoir des systèmes de soutènement temporaire sûrs, efficaces et structurellement solides qui favorisent l'efficacité et la praticité du chantier.

  • Fournir des plans spécifiques au chantier signés/scellés par un ingénieur professionnel (Ordre des Ingénieurs) y compris les dessins de conception de soutènement/excavations et les notes de calculs pour appuyer les plans.

  • S'assurer que les dessins et plans techniques sont exacts et répondent aux normes de conception technique applicables et aux exigences des provinces.

  • Former si nécessaire et fournir un soutien technique aux représentants du département d’étançonnement pour fournir des devis aux clients.

  • Estimer les coûts des projets et préparer les propositions pour les clients

  • Obtenir et/ou maintenir des licences professionnelles dans plusieurs provinces

  • Autres tâches assignées selon les besoins

Exigences:

  • Bilingue (français/anglais)

  • Titre d'ingénieur professionnel (OIQ, OIO, AIGNB, etc.) en Civil - Ouvrages temporaires, ou dans un domaine d'ingénierie connexe

  • 5 à 10 ans d'expérience en tant qu'ingénieur agréé dans un environnement d'ingénierie structurelle ou géotechnique

  • Familiarité avec les codes et normes canadiens, notamment : CSA W59:24, CSA S16:24, NBC-2020, CSA A23.3:24.

  • Connaissance des normes de base en matière d'analyse technique des structures et de conception.

  • Familiarité avec les propriétés de base, les procédures d'essai et l'interprétation des données géotechniques.

  • Maîtrise de la norme d'excavation des différentes législations provinciales

  • Expérience avec Autocad, Mathcad, MS Office (Word et Excel)

  • Capacité à travailler de manière indépendante et en équipe

  • Travailler efficacement avec les clients et les représentants des succursales pour planifier et négocier la conception des systèmes de soutènement temporaire.

  • Solides compétences organisationnelles et souci du détail
