Java Fullstack developer

This is a remote position.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Java Full Stack Developer with strong expertise in enterprise Java application development, legacy web technologies, and system integration. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience building scalable backend applications using Java EE, Spring Framework, and EJB, while also supporting frontend development using JSP, JavaScript, jQuery, and Struts.

The candidate should be comfortable working with messaging systems, relational databases, REST/SOAP services, caching technologies, and enterprise scheduling frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java EE and Spring Framework.
  
• Develop and enhance backend services using Java, EJB 3.0, and Spring Framework 5.3.x.
  
• Build and maintain frontend applications using JSP, JavaScript, jQuery, and Struts 1.x.
  
• Develop dashboards and reports using JFreeChart.
  
• Configure and maintain Gradle build scripts for application development and deployment.
  
• Develop equipment communication services using Netty NIO.
  
• Implement background jobs and scheduled tasks using Quartz Scheduler.
  
• Design and develop RESTful and SOAP web services.
  
• Integrate enterprise applications using JMS and ActiveMQ messaging.
  
• Handle binary message processing, including hexadecimal-to-binary data conversion.
  
• Develop and optimize database objects, queries, stored procedures, and performance for Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL.
  
• Implement backend caching solutions using Infinispan or similar caching technologies.
  
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.
  
• Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and technical design discussions.
  

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Java application development.
  
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Java EE
    
  • EJB 3.0
    
  • Spring Framework 5.3.x (Dependency Injection, Transactions)
    
  • Gradle
    
• Experience developing enterprise web applications using:
  • JSP
    
  • JavaScript
    
  • jQuery
    
  • Struts 1.x MVC Framework
    
• Experience with Netty NIO for TCP/IP or equipment communication.
  
• Experience using Quartz Scheduler for batch processing and scheduled jobs.
  
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or MySQL.
  
• Experience implementing caching using Infinispan or similar technologies (Ehcache, Redis, Hazelcast, etc.).
  
• Experience developing SOAP and REST APIs.
  
• Strong understanding of JMS and ActiveMQ messaging.
  
• Experience working with binary data, hexadecimal conversions, and message processing.
  
• Strong SQL and database design skills.
  
• Experience with Git and version control systems.
  
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with microservices architecture.
  
• Knowledge of Spring Boot and Spring MVC.
  
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
  
• Experience with application performance tuning and monitoring.
  
• Exposure to Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
  
• Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and messaging architecture.
