Vivante Health

Digital Health & Health Tech

The all-in-one digital solution for gut health and disease. We’re helping people feel better, while lowering their cost of care. At Vivante, we’re taking on digestive disease because an astonishing 70 million people in the US are affected—that’s twice the number with diabetes and more than many other chronic conditions combined. Unlike other chronic conditions, though, digestive diseases are often untreated or misdiagnosed...because of stigma. Over half of adults with digestive trouble admit they haven’t even consulted a provider about their symptoms. This is unfortunate because chronic digestive symptoms take a toll on home life, work performance, romance, and even simple social events. And digestive disease is expensive! For most companies, GI claims are the #2 healthcare expense, second only to cancer. Specialty drugs for inflammatory bowel disease can run $70k per year for just ONE employee. Now is the time for employers and health plans to address digestive health, while at the same time providing REAL help to the millions who are struggling and don’t know where to turn. Our all-in-one digital program, GIThrive®, empowers people—through brilliant technology and advanced science—to spend less time worrying about their digestive symptoms and more time living life. A wonderful byproduct of the GIThrive success is reduced medical and Rx drug spending for employers, health plans and individuals. Contact us for a no-cost-to-you claims analysis. You’ll be shocked at how much GI claims are costing your company. But we can help!

Job description

About Cylinder

Founded in 2021 and offered as an employer benefit, Cylinder (formerly Vivante Health) delivers personalized, clinician-backed care to those suffering from digestive issues through its virtual health platform. Cylinder's tech-forward, human-first program connects members to the right level of support at the right time through an easy interface, bringing the healthcare ecosystem together to align around member needs. Cylinder's dedicated care teams help members proactively address their gut health from every angle – decreasing costs, reducing absenteeism, and improving their quality of life, at scale. Cylinder's vision is to create a world where people receive convenient, personalized, and affordable access to the quality digestive healthcare they need to improve their overall health.

Position Summary

We’re seeking a full-time Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing virtual care team. The PA will provide direct, evidence-based GI care via telehealth in collaboration with supervising physicians, registered dietitians, and health coaches. You’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality, whole-person digestive health care that improves outcomes for our members.

Why is this a great opportunity for a Physician Assistant?

  • Work in a cutting-edge virtual care environment with a focus on digestive health

  • Flexible schedule with a 32-hour weekly guarantee and the opportunity to increase to 40 hours

  • Collaborative, multidisciplinary care model (Gastroenterologists, Internal Medicine physicians, dietitians, health coaches, mental health professionals, and care coordinators)

  • Mission-driven work: improving quality of life for people with GI conditions

  • Fully remote, serving members across all 50 states

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct virtual patient assessments (history, symptoms, guided physical exam where appropriate)

  • Diagnose and manage GI-related conditions in alignment with clinical protocols

  • Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests within scope of practice

  • Develop and update individualized care plans in collaboration with supervising physicians and care team

  • Escalate complex or high-risk cases to supervising physician as needed

  • Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic health record

  • Participate in case reviews, chart audits, and team meetings

You’ll be a good fit here if you are:

  • A compassionate, patient-centered clinician with strong communication skills

  • Comfortable practicing in a fully virtual environment

  • Collaborative by nature and energized by working in multidisciplinary teams

  • Adaptable and excited to be part of an early-stage company shaping the future of care

Required Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted PA-C license in the United States, with willingness to obtain additional state licenses (Cylinder will cover costs as needed)

  • Experience managing patients with chronic conditions or in a GI specialty (e.g., IBS, IBD)

  • Ability to practice independently within scope, while collaborating effectively with supervising physician and care team

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior telehealth experience

  • Multistate licensure

  • Experience with motivational interviewing or patient-centered counseling approaches

  • Bilingual proficiency (Spanish strongly preferred, other languages a plus)

Hiring Timeline

We're intentionally hiring ahead of our clinical expansion. Rather than waiting until launch, we invest in our providers by beginning paid employment during the licensing, credentialing, and onboarding process.

During the first phase of employment, you'll be compensated while completing:

  • Multi-state licensure (company paid)

  • Credentialing and enrollment

As licensure, credentialing, and operational readiness are completed, providers will transition into clinical training and begin caring for Members. We anticipate increasing clinical responsibilities beginning around November–December 2026, with a transition to regular clinical schedules thereafter.

Cylinder is an equal opportunity employer. We believe safe spaces where everyone can be their authentic selves is the key to a successful team so we welcome and embrace all identities, cultures, and backgrounds.
