Job Specific Working Conditions:


This self-motivated first or second year law student will have strong motivation to research and write on important legal issues impacting a religious non-profit organization. As assigned by a supervising attorney, he or she will be asked to thoroughly analyze legal questions on issues like tax, human resources, intellectual property, corporations, international transactions, immigration, data protection and privacy, and risk management.

Essential Duties:

  • Research global, federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Analyze case law, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents.
  • Clearly and concisely write legal memoranda and legal opinions under attorney supervision.
  • Assist attorney and paralegals in consulting with Young Life staff on open legal matters.
  • Participate in meetings with member of the Legal Services Department by offering ideas, input, and feedback.
  • Assist in preparing contracts, agreements, and legal correspondence under attorney supervision.
  • Review and organize case files and discovery materials.
  • Proofread legal documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Follow up, as instructed, with outside counsel or Young Life staff with ongoing projects.


Education:

  • Completed first year of law school at an ABA-accredited law school in the United States.


Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid - Office environment/Work from home.
  • This is an unpaid position
