Job description

Zippy was founded with one mission: to make getting a loan for a manufactured home simple, fast, and fully online. We believe modern manufactured homes are affordable, well-built, eco-friendly, and stylish, but finding a lender who understands this market can be challenging. That’s why Zippy focuses exclusively on manufactured home loans, offering a seamless, digital experience.

Headquartered in Dallas, TX, with an office in Tempe, AZ, Zippy provides home loans and insurance to manufactured home buyers throughout the United States. Our remote-first team is spread across cities like Dallas, Houston, Knoxville, Omaha, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and several other states and cities. Backed by institutional investors, we offer competitive pay, stock options, and excellent benefits. At Zippy, we pride ourselves on our commitment to finance happiness through the power of home. We are dedicated to enhancing consumers' financial outcomes and tackling the affordable housing crisis through cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions.

Role Overview

The Manager of Capital Markets serves as the operational quarterback for Zippy's institutional capital partners and loan investors. Working directly with the Chief Investment Officer, this individual is responsible for coordinating investor communications, managing ongoing reporting, analyzing partner performance, and ensuring day-to-day operational excellence across our capital markets platform.

This role requires someone who thrives at the intersection of relationship management, project management, and cross-functional execution. You'll work closely with Capital Markets, Finance, Credit, Servicing, Operations, Legal, and Technology to ensure investors receive exceptional service while helping scale one of the industry's fastest-growing lending platforms

Core Responsibilities

Capital Markets Operations

  • Coordinate ongoing loan sales, pricing and trade registration.

  • Manage investor reporting packages, portfolio performance updates, and ad hoc analyses.

  • Monitor and update rate card as well as interest rate hedge for loans awaiting sale.

  • Monitor operational SLAs and ensure commitments to investors are consistently met.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation, and scalability.

Investor Relationship Management

  • Serve as a primary day-to-day point of contact for institutional loan buyers and capital partners.

  • Coordinate regular investor communications, portfolio updates, and performance reporting.

  • Build trusted relationships through proactive communication and exceptional responsiveness.

  • Track investor requests and ensure timely resolution across internal teams.

  • Coordinate recurring business reviews and portfolio update meetings.

Investor Onboarding & Execution

  • Lead onboarding of new institutional investors from signed agreement through operational readiness.

  • Coordinate implementation activities across Legal, Operations, Technology, Servicing, Finance, and Credit.

  • Manage project plans, milestones, dependencies, and timelines for new investor launches.

  • Ensure operational processes, reporting, and data delivery are successfully established before launch.

Cross-Functional Project Management

  • Lead strategic initiatives on behalf of the CIO.

  • Coordinate execution across multiple departments to deliver capital markets priorities.

  • Track action items, risks, dependencies, and project status.

  • Drive accountability and follow-through across stakeholders.

Process Improvement

  • Develop scalable processes for investor servicing and communication.

  • Create documentation, standard operating procedures, and operational playbooks.

  • Recommend improvements that enhance investor experience and internal efficiency.

Decision Authority

  • Final authority on prioritization and routing of investor requests and internal follow-up cadence

  • Authority to set and enforce internal response deadlines for routine, non-material requests

  • No authority over underlying credit, compliance, or policy decisions - coordinates but does not override subject-matter owners

  • Escalation of material, high-risk, or novel items to the Chief Investment Officer and relevant functional leaders

Operating Model

  • Operates as an individual contributor with functional ownership of the investor intake and coordination process

  • No direct people management responsibilities initially; may evolve as the number of capital partners and deliverable volume grows

  • Expected to work cross-functionally across credit risk, servicing, compliance, operations, dealer, and IT to drive deliverables to closure

  • Acts as the day-to-day face of the company to capital partners on operational and administrative matters, while credit and capital markets strategy remain with senior leadership

Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of experience in financial services, specialty finance, or lending, ideally with exposure to warehouse lending, loan sale, or capital partner relationships

  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to manage many concurrent, cross-functional workstreams to closure

  • Strong working knowledge of lending operations, underwriting, servicing, or compliance - sufficient to answer most business questions directly

  • High emotional intelligence and relationship-building skill; comfortable owning difficult or overdue conversations professionally

  • Excellent organizational skills and follow-through; low tolerance for items falling through the cracks

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate internal detail into clear, partner-facing responses

  • Experience with deliverable or SLA tracking tools (e.g., structured trackers, project management software)

  • Manufactured housing, specialty finance, or partner-based lending experience strongly preferred
