About CodeRoad

CodeRoad provides end-to-end software development services, helping businesses scale with ideal infrastructure solutions. From staff augmentation to dedicated IT teams and general software engineering, our nearshore technology services empower businesses to thrive in an ever-evolving digital landscape.

About the Role

As a Senior BI Engineer at CodeRoad, you will serve as the technical backbone for our end-to-end Business Intelligence architectures, turning complex and disparate data streams into scalable, reliable reporting ecosystems. You will anchor the design and implementation of enterprise data warehouses, semantic layers, and interactive visual dashboards. Working alongside cross-functional PODs, you will bridge the gap between backend data engineering and business strategy, ensuring high data quality, performant query pipelines, and intuitive data access across the organization.

This role is critical to democratizing data and empowering leadership with real-time, actionable insights. By establishing robust BI frameworks, automated orchestration, and standardized reporting metrics, you will enable stakeholders to make confident, data-driven decisions. Beyond technical execution, your ownership will shape our core analytics processes, setting the standard for data modeling efficiency, platform scalability, and reporting excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and optimize scalable data models, semantic layers, and schema designs (Star/Snowflake) in modern cloud data warehouses.
  • Build and maintain robust data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and automated orchestration to ensure seamless data ingestion and transformation.
  • Design intuitive, high-performance dashboards and interactive visualizations that transform complex data into actionable business intelligence.
  • Optimize dashboard performance, SQL queries, and backend data structures to maximize speed, reliability, and platform efficiency.
  • Establish data governance, metric definitions, and quality assurance processes to guarantee accurate and trustworthy reporting.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, product managers, and executive leadership to align BI solutions with overarching strategic goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a BI Engineer, Data Engineer, or in a similar analytics engineering role.
  • Expert SQL proficiency, including advanced query optimization, data modeling, and performance tuning.
  • Deep experience with modern Cloud Data Warehouses such as Snowflake, Google BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift.
  • Hands-on experience with modern BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or Looker) for dashboard architecture and semantic modeling.
  • Proficiency in data transformation tools like dbt (data build tool) and Python for ETL/ELT pipeline scripting.
  • Ownership mindset with strong problem-solving skills, accountability, and the ability to drive projects independently.
  • Advanced English (written and verbal) with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with workflow orchestration platforms like Apache Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
  • Exposure to real-time stream processing tools or lakehouse frameworks (Databricks, Delta Lake).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices applied to data engineering (e.g., Git, automated testing for data pipelines).
  • Background working in distributed nearshore Agile PODs or fast-paced software agency environments.

What You’ll Love

  • 100% Remote work flexibility
  • Holidays off based on your local calendar
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Health insurance assistance
  • Competitive USD compensation
  • Continuous growth and career advancement opportunities
