We’re in an exciting phase of growth and transformation, with teammates in more than 20 countries across three continents and main hubs in the United States, Poland, Romania, Ukraine and Philippines
At airSlate, we’re building value for customers and a culture where growth and innovation go hand in hand. We’re looking for people eager to shape products, scale a company, and thrive in a fast-moving environment.

And now, we are looking for a Team Lead PHP Engineer who is prepared to contribute to the next chapter of our company's growth.

The person will join the Payments Systems core team and take on the responsibility of integrating new payment gateways, running experiments, and maintaining the systems that power our users' payment experience while ensuring seamless and secure transactions.

As Senior PHP Developer, you will design and implement payment experiments, integrate new gateways, and optimize existing systems — with direct impact on the payment experience for millions of users.

What you'll be working on:
  • Develop the payments and billing codebase and contribute to its technical direction
  • Take experiments and gateway integrations end-to-end: scope, build, analyze, deliver a verdict
  • Optimize existing payment systems for reliability, performance, and security
  • Lead people: run 1:1s and PDPs, mentor, keep the team aligned and resilient
  • Maintain production payments and troubleshoot issues as part of an on-duty rotation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Growth on payment initiatives
  • Use AI-assisted development in your daily work

  • What we expect from you:
  • Maturity and self-sufficiency — owning tasks and whole features end-to-end
  • 6+ years of backend development experience; 1–2+ years leading or mentoring a small team (tech lead / team lead)
  • Strong PHP skills with a modern framework (Yii2 and/or Laravel)
  • Relational databases (MySQL and/or PostgreSQL)
  • Git and Docker expertise
  • Software architecture design and testing discipline gained on high-load projects
  • Task estimation, decomposition, and prioritization against business goals
  • Cross-functional stakeholder communication — taking ownership and knowing who to ask
  • Professional-level English for daily written and spoken collaboration

  • What helps you rock:
  • Payments or fintech domain experience
  • Kubernetes, GitOps (ArgoCD), and CI/CD (GitHub Actions)
  • Go expertise
