Job description

Who You Are

You are a consultative technology professional who combines deep networking expertise with a passion for solving customer challenges. You thrive in client-facing environments, building trusted relationships through technical credibility, clear communication, and strategic thinking. With extensive experience designing enterprise network solutions using Cisco and Juniper technologies, you're equally comfortable whiteboarding with engineers, presenting to executive stakeholders, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop winning solutions. You stay current on emerging networking trends, enjoy learning new technologies, and are motivated by helping customers achieve successful business outcomes through innovative infrastructure design.

About This Role

As a Pre-Sales Network Architect, you will play a critical role in helping clients modernize and optimize their network infrastructure by designing innovative, scalable, and secure solutions. Partnering closely with sales teams, customers, and technology partners, you'll translate complex business challenges into technical architectures that drive business outcomes. From leading discovery sessions and solution workshops to developing proposals and presenting executive-level recommendations, you'll serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales process. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex networking challenges, influencing technical strategy, and helping organizations leverage cutting-edge technologies to achieve their goals.

Must be based in the United States.

 Other responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the technical lead during pre-sales engagements, aligning network architectures with client goals across data center, campus, and WAN environments.
  • Design and present solutions using Cisco (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR) and Juniper (MX, EX, SRX) platforms to meet customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Lead whiteboarding sessions, technical workshops, and customer discovery meetings to define use cases, success criteria, and architectural recommendations.
  • Collaborate with account managers, delivery teams, and OEM partners to develop comprehensive proposals, BOMs, and SOWs.
  • Translate business needs into scalable, secure network architectures leveraging routing, switching, VPNs, and firewall technologies.
  • Develop high-quality documentation, including HLDs, solution briefs, and client-ready presentations.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies (SD-WAN, EVPN-VXLAN, automation) and communicate their value in customer environments.
  • Participate in RFP responses, competitive analyses, and technical validation of proposed architectures.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to enterprise clients, building long-term technical relationships.
  • Complete ongoing security awareness training and comply with company policies to the requirements section
  • Identify and escalate security risks to the appropriate Executive Leadership Team member and actively contribute to remediation efforts
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise networking roles, including at least 2 years in a customer-facing pre-sales or solution architect capacity.
  • Deep technical expertise in Cisco and Juniper network infrastructure (routing, switching, firewalls).
  • Strong understanding of Layer 2/3 protocols (BGP, OSPF, STP, VLANs, VRFs), QoS, NAT, ACLs.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions with engineers and executives alike.
  • Experience designing or consulting on data center, WAN, or secure remote access solutions.
  • Skilled at creating architecture diagrams, proposal documentation, and technical presentations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: CCNP/CCIE (Enterprise/Data Center), JNCIP/JNCIE strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN, EVPN-VXLAN, MPLS, or cloud networking (AWS/Azure).
  • Experience with network automation (e.g., Ansible, Python) is a plus.
  • Exposure to NAC, 802.1X, RADIUS, and hybrid networking environments.
