About the Position: Performance Trust is seeking a highly motivated Legal Assistant / Paralegal to serve as a key member of our Legal team. This role will serve as a point of contact for corporate governance, legal operations, and legal document management and help streamline internal processes. The ideal candidate will be able to partner effectively across multiple business lines, including Investment Banking and other PT departments as needed.


The Legal Assistant / Paralegal - Capital Markets will play a critical role in enhancing the legal and compliance processes within the Capital Markets team. This role will focus on supporting day-to-day legal operations, helping to ensure compliance, visibility, and smooth workflows within the Capital Markets function. The position will also contribute to the ongoing foundation-building efforts in process automation and scalability, especially related to deal tracking, documentation, and legal oversight.

Specifically, this individual will be responsible for the following:

  

Deal Memo Management & Documentation:

  • Ensure that new deal memos are prepared for new PT engagements; Liaise with PT Business and PT Finance teams as needed.
  • Support the PT Legal and PT Business teams in gathering all materials (financials, deal memos, etc.) and ensure timely submission to internal PT committees.

Pipeline Management & Asana Integration:

  • Maintain and update deal pipelines in Asana for Capital Markets, working with teams to ensure all parties and details are included (and updated) in the system.
  • Use Asana to automate workflows, ensuring that routine tasks and deal steps are tracked.

Compliance Support & Due Diligence:

  • Liaise with PT Compliance for required deal information as needed.
  • Work closely with junior bankers and other team members to ensure that PT Control Room needs are fulfilled and approvals are properly logged into the system. The legal assistant / paralegal will be responsible for entering parties into the PT Control Room.
  • Perform legal due diligence on active securitization transactions.

Technology Integration & Workflow Optimization:

  • Collaborate with PT Technology and PT Compliance to improve the flow of legal information and data between systems like Asana and the PT Control Room.
  • Contribute to the optimization of legal workflows and collaborating with PT Legal teammates, ensuring that systems are integrated efficiently and that legal data is easily accessible across platforms.
Requirements

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in a corporate or in-house legal setting; capital markets or financial services experience preferred but not required.
  • Eager, organized, responsible and intellectually curious, with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple deals and priorities simultaneously, with high attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working closely with bankers, compliance teams, and external counsel to support deal execution.
  • High level of initiative; able to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to in-person trainings, employee events, and other business-related travel, as reasonably requested by the Company
  • Candidates must be eligible to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.

Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $85,000-$100,000. This is an estimated range based on the circumstances at the time of posting, however, may change based on a combination of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, education, market factors, geographical location, budget, and demand. This position is also eligible for a bonus component that would be dependent on pre-defined performance factors. All compensation determinations are based on the skills and experience required for the position and commensurate with experience of selected individuals, which may vary above and below the stated amounts.
