This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements.  You must be available five days per week during designated work hours.  The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance. Position Overview

This role leads an IT infrastructure engineering team with a focus on technical delivery, operational efficiency, and team development. You will be accountable for the team’s technical execution, operational performance, and the overall quality of its engineering output, balancing execution, process enablement, and people leadership to deliver impactful solutions. You will foster a high-performing, collaborative team environment, mentor engineers, and drive continuous improvement across both product and process. This role requires strong leadership, a hands-on approach to problem solving, and a consistent focus on delivering meaningful outcomes.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage an engineering team, ensuring alignment with product and business goals. 
  • Manage an infrastructure engineering team in the development or enhancement of IT infrastructure products or solutions for stability and resilience. 
  • Own the overall health, scalability, and quality of products within the team’s domain. 
  • Facilitate and continuously improve team processes, including development, planning, on-call rotations, defect triage, incident resolution and metrics review to optimize productivity and efficiency. 
  • Coach and mentor engineers help them excel and achieve personal/organizational goals, grow technical skills, and progress in their careers. 
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations partners on IT infrastructure projects, ensuring technical alignment with business objectives. 
  • Lead the activities of the team toward executing well-defined projects in support of quarterly and annual goals. 
  • Drive execution on projects/goals that may extend beyond the immediate team’s scope, ensuring cross-functional collaboration. 
  • Ensure the quality, scalability, and health of the IT infrastructure products, working to improve technical excellence and operational reliability. 
  • Empower and unblock the team by establishing efficient execution and operational processes, ensuring high velocity and impactful delivery. 
  • Monitor and analyze team performance metrics to drive continuous improvements in development efficiency and quality. 
  • Optimize resource allocation within the team, ensuring the right talent is focused on priority initiatives. 
  • Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies, applying relevant best practices to enhance engineering effectiveness. 
  • Ensure adherence to security best practices and compliance standards. 
  • Focus on VMware, Cisco MDS/UCS, and other off the shelf compute hardware deployment and operations using automated tooling. 
  • Own the strategy and effectiveness of monitoring and observability tooling (NDFC-SAN, Datadog, LogicMonitor), driving proactive detection, actionable insights, and continuous improvement in infrastructure reliability. 
  • Strong knowledge in working with storage platforms such as PureStorage FlashArray and FlashBlade. 
  • Jira for project planning, and familiarity with datacenter architecture and capacity planning. 

Education & Experience

  • BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience. 
  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering 
  • Strong technical background in IT infrastructure, VMware, Cisco MDS/UCS, and datacenter architecture. 
  • Experience in standing up CMDB (ServiceNow) and driving automation (Ansible) to a path towards IaC (Infrastructure as Code). 
  • Experience working in fast paced agile environments and driving process improvements. 
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams. 
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working across Engineering, Security and Operational functions. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability to change, and a curious, growth-oriented mindset. 

Physical requirements 

  • Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day. 
  • Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.

The base pay range for this position is $129k - $185k/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
