Fully Remote (U.S. Only): This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements. Position Overview

Development Analyst II is a resource supporting Implementation, Support, and other operational teams by serving as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical partners. This position is responsible for researching and resolving system issues, supporting enhancement requests, performing testing activities, analyzing business processes, and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency through technology solutions.


The Development Analyst II plays a key role in designing, building, and supporting automation within Salesforce and other business systems to streamline workflows, improve data quality, reduce manual effort, and enhance the overall employee and client experience. This role partners closely with Operations, Product, Development, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable solutions, support system enhancements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.


As a subject matter expert, the Development Analyst II leverages reporting, data analysis, process optimization, and Salesforce capabilities to improve operational effectiveness while supporting the ongoing evolution of Paylocity's products, processes, and internal technology solutions.

  • Evaluate, research, prioritize, and coordinate resolution of system issues, enhancement requests, bugs, and operational challenges, determining appropriate paths for resolution and escalation.  
  • Design, build, test, and maintain internal software tools, workflows, and automated solutions that improve operational efficiency, scalability, and user experience.  
  • Partner with business stakeholders, Product, and Development teams to gather requirements, review priorities, and translate business needs into scalable technology solutions.  
  • Identify process inefficiencies, data quality concerns, and recurring operational challenges, recommending and implementing sustainable improvements.  
  • Support the delivery of system enhancements and technology initiatives by managing priorities, participating in solution design discussions, and driving work from concept through implementation.

Education and Experience


Required 

  • Bachelor's degree required 
  • 1+ year experience in a similar role 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently 
  • Ability to learn new technologies, systems, and business processes quickly 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and levels of the organization to resolve business and system related issues 

Preferred

  •  Experience supporting business systems, operational tools, SaaS applications, or internally developed technology solutions.  
  • Experience researching issues, troubleshooting business processes, and supporting system enhancements, bug fixes, or operational workflows.  
  • Experience with automation, software testing, process improvement initiatives, and workflow optimization.  
  • Experience with Python, SQL, TypeScript, Microsoft Power Platform, Salesforce, or similar development and automation technologies. 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
  • Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.

The base pay range for this position is $55,000 - $75,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position offers a full range of benefits outlined here.
