This position is funded for 1 year(s); continuation past 1 year(s) will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.

 

This is a/an 75 % full-time equivalency (FTE) job. This position will work 30 hours per week. This position is eligible for benefits associated with any full-time position. The salary grade and range listed in the posting is reflective of a 100% Full-time position. Full-time equivalency job offers may fall outside of the listed range due to the assigned percentage of effort.

 

POSITION SPECIFICS

The Parents And Children Together (PACT) initiative, directed by Dr. Dawn Witherspoon with Associate Director Dr. Martha Wadsworth, invites applications for a Human Research Technologist to serve as a community engagement and outreach coordinator. The anticipated start date is as soon as possible.

The Human Research Technologist will have the opportunity to work as part of the PACT multidisciplinary team of investigators, community members, and community organizations who collaborate to promote the health and well-being of children, youth, and families from varied backgrounds through culturally sensitive and community-engaged research.

The Human Research Technologist will communicate and engage with the greater Harrisburg community by attending community outreach events, assisting and developing participant recruitment strategies, and participating in data collection activities.

This position will be responsible for developing and sustaining relationships and partnerships with family, youth, and Latine-serving organizations in the greater Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, region (and tracking these efforts) and supporting recruitment and assessment activities of PACT-affiliated projects.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Administrative duties include data collection, recruitment tracking, and meeting documentation

  • Attend team meetings and provide regular updates

  • Train and oversee volunteers and students in activities related to outreach, recruitment, and data collection

  • Attend community events to share information about PACT and describe PACT-affiliated projects

  • Maintain and track the impact of the PACT website and social media

  • Support PACT Investigators with research project protocol development and data collection occasionally

  • Support and collaborate with the PACT Assistant Director of Community Relations

The Human Research Technologist will utilize organizational, multi-tasking, and attention to detail skills to complete the responsibilities of this position; work will be done both independently and collaboratively.

Important Work Modality Information:

  • This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends, primarily to accommodate the availability of participating families and outreach events.

  • Onsite office work would be done at the PACT lab in Harrisburg, with regular offsite work.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to be detail-oriented and multi-task

  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams) for communication, recordkeeping, and data tracking.

Due to the demographic of the greater Harrisburg region and the interaction the Human Research Technologist will have with the community, being bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Associate Degree
2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $36,888.00 - $53,532.00.
